Where to rent - Bradford area?

The best thing to do is rent a cheap b&b in Manningham, and spend a few weekends getting a feel for the place.
There are some great sports and supercar dealers in nearby Keighley too that you really must check out.
Really. Manningham. There are some great sports and supercar dealers in nearby Keighley too that you really must check out.
Personally, I'd avoid it like the plague and be as far away from the place as your wife is happy to commute.

Brighouse and surrounding area is nice. Very handy for M62.
Steady trip to Manningham though. You’re the wrong side of everything. Depends how long you think is a reasonable commute time.
M62 is back to its busy itself, during peak hours. Plenty of sections temporarily limited to a 50/60mph too.Steady trip to Manningham though. You’re the wrong side of everything. Depends how long you think is a reasonable commute time.
It’s even busy on an early Sunday mornings now - used to be near empty during (numerous) lockdowns...

Was dead this morning (lack of HGVs, vans or breakdowns), I’m loving it. It’s even busy on an early Sunday mornings now - used to be near empty during (numerous) lockdowns...
Will see what it’s like after the work (18:30), footie’s on!!

Have you looked slightly further afield i.e; Skipton? The Skipton train pulls in at Bradford Foster Square - 10-15 mins walk from Manningham.
10-15 minutes walking from Manningham to Forster Square on a dark evening as a lone woman is, I fear, going to be more a case of "when", than "if". Depending where in Manningham the job is Frizinghall station might be a shorter walk, but equally hazardous.Bit late to the party here although all things considered, from what the OP has said about what their partner wants, then I would say that being further away from the Manningham area and taking the commute would be by far the better option.
Wibsey might be a good area as would Shelf way.
Perhaps best to either have a drive round areas first, to get a feel, although the rental market is a bit sparse at the moment.

I will pass those on thank you. Hipperholme has a couple of places but as you say there is a scarcity of properties for rent at the moment.
For many areas you might need to not rely on Rightmove but get on the local Facebook pages - both to look for properties and also proactively ask. Stuff moves quickly.dontfollowme said:

Hipperholme, Lightcliffe, Norwood Green, Coley, Stone Chair are all nice areas. There are two local estate agents there. Maybe it's worth phoning them direct?

My Mrs works in central Bradford and we live in Ilkley
I would say that places to check out would be:
Saltaire
Farsley/Pudsey
Calverley
Rodley
Baildon
Menston
Burley in Wharfedale
Skipton
Kildwick
Silsden
Lots of options depending on how close you want to be to urban/countryside and whether you'll use the train or drive

Good location, and worth it just for the street name
