Do you know if the A3 was recovered? If 17JS is a white A3, then i'm pretty sure it parks outside my work most days. It was there on Friday certainly with a new fetching rubber scuff mark on the front bumper. Presumably it's no longer missing?
Yeah, cars were recovered.

Made my piss boil when I heard him say this on the radio, i am sure he even mentioned that it was the drivers fault for leaving the car in unsafe areas.

I know this isn't related to car crime but points more to the lack of interest from the police, at the weekend there I had to call them again because two guys in a rented Enterprise transit van were throwing fireworks at my house and car and my neighbor as well. I chased them in my car and got the reg of the can, gave all the details to the police and I never heard from them again. So you're not going to phone Enterprise and check who it was considering there will be a name on file? Sorry to do your job for you! I just got told that if they had a unit in the area and the time they would swing by and have a look.

Really? Oh gee thanks!

To all those unhappy with what Grampian Police say or do - CLICK HERE!!!

Posting here is futile.

Emailing them might be too - unless enough people stop bellyaching and stand up / speak out.

I have told them that ...

CI George MacDonald's comments in the media recently regarding the apparent spate of car thefts in Aberdeen are outrageous.

To suggest this might be the fault of the car owners is, quite frankly, an insult to the people Grampian Police are supposed to serve.

Aberdeen based car thieves have been boasting about their exploits on a social networking website for some time now.

Who they are isn’t a secret yet CI MacDonald seems to believe that creating this smokescreen in the media is the best use of the force’s time and resources.

I have defended Grampian Police for many years against many who like to criticise the force at every turn.

Right now, I’m very disappointed and disillusioned. It’s a real shame.

CI MacDonald needs to apologise to the people of Aberdeen and direct the force to deal with this problem once and for all.
Copying local and national press is the next step if you're not satisfied with the response you get.

Cheers,

Eric smile

Paper says 3 men were injured and treated in hospital.

What a shame.

The real crime is that its my bloody tax money thats paying for their treatment!

Does anyone know if the court rolls list everyone that is in court that day or just those booked in from ages ago?

Todays aberdeen court list http://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/rolls/sheriff/lists/a...

edit: 5 names from that list today are friends on the garthdeejockyz page - draw your own conclusions

Apparently, from a friend of a colleague who witnessed it, one boy went through the windscreen and ended up on the road.

when approached he was seen to have socks on his hands and was allegedly intoxicated.

Surely this will be enough this time to gain a conviction?

That would of been the perfect time to stick the boot in... Hope they were taken to the hospital via Hazelhead woods.

craigie - on average, how long from being charged would it take for them to be in court/convicted?

I seem to see stories in the papers where its 9 months after offences until convictions.

In court - depending on their record/seriousness of offence, but the next day if they are kept locked up by the police. Conviction - again, depends on whether they are given bail or not. If they are remanded in custody the trial used to have to (may be different now) start within 40 days. If they are on bail it will be months.

Based on what I've read, those c**ts in Garthdee seem to be frequent flyers in the courts, yet they just get a little talking to. Surely a new law should be brought in saying if you appear in court a certain amount of times as a suspect and get convicted it should result in prison time. They can't JUST keep going to court 20 odd times and still walk out literally free men

It should be three strikes and out.

Get convicted of any petty crime on three seperate occasions and get sent down for 10 years or so. That would stop the guys sharpish surely?

If you own another property, you could just be moving a rolling pin for one property to another.
