Evening all,

Looking for a bit of help from someone that is familiar with jags, a 99 xj8 sovereign to be precise.

It's a long story but I have ended up with the car and it is looking like the head gasket has gone so really I'm after someone to confirm or deny this and best advise on what to do with the car (costs to repair, best place to sell it on too?).

The car holds a lot of sentimental value and has been owned since new (1 owner). It has only covered 54000 miles and is pretty dam clean so I really want the car to be repaired, or to be sold as is to someone who will repair it and appreciate the car (wedding car hire company for example).

So, can anyone help out? I'm in the Aberdeen area and would be more than happy to listen to advise from anyone that knows about these cars and the best way to proceed!

Thanks in advance!

Go and see David Cunningham on Ardarroch Road, I assume he's still there.

It's not a shop as such, drive along the road and you will see half a dozen jags outside and some shed doors - poke your head in there.

It's right beside a w Autotech, I go past a few times a week and there's always several sovereigns, xjs etc outside. Never had experience of them but would definitely go there!

Very friendly and the kettle's always on.

I always went there with my XJS when I had it.

Went in past today, very helpful chap! Unfortunately he didn't want to buy it as he has no space so will just advertise the car and see what happens!

Unless anyone knows anybody else in the area that would be interested in the car?

Cheers
