Heard the John Martin Group is no more? Volvo Sighthill appears to be changing to John Clark.
Sad if true worked for them for many years.
Was just a matter of time I reckon, they had been downsizing, selling off sites for years, largely I think because John Martin Jnr's death so there was no successor in the business to take over when John Martin Snr retired. Sad if true worked for them for many years.
Could also just be they have acquired the Volvo franchise for Edinburgh and JMG have lost it, unless youve heard the whole group inc all franchises at Sighthill and the branches at Selkirk and Wallyford are going too.

Hardie of Stirling is now missing it's Peugeot signage...
They appear to still have Peugeot in Larbert, although of the 2 I wouldve assumed Stirling was the better choice to keep Peugeot at as its in a better location.Perhaps they are planning a new franchise for Stirling. Too big a site to survive on used cars as they dont even appear to have retained Peugeot authorised repairer status so no warranty, service work, parts sales for Peugeot to rely on.

Any update on Hardies in Stirling? Or Arnold Clarks plan for old Phoenix site and the Suzuki and Mitsubushi dealerships?
Flear + Thomson have applied for planning to build a new Kia dealership on a greenfield site opposite Eastern Western's new Nissan and Honda site in construction around behind Stirling Audi

The old Phoenix Honda Grangemouth site is to open later this month as Imperial Cars according to banners they've put up. Google shows them as a car warehouse type operation with this being their first Scottish outlet.
Been vacant for simply ages so should be interesting to see how they do (based on the demise of both VW and Honda from that site).

Not sure what’s happening with Wallyford.
Gillanders is now a Kia dealer.
This article explains why Hardie Stirling has lost status as a Peugeot site (Peugeot are cutting sites) and talks about Vauxhall cutting 100 plus sites. Who in Scotland is vulnerable?

Been taken over by Arnold Clark .... yes they have another one!Soon all you will have are Arnold clark
TOM was funny. I remember wanting to hire a van with a Towbar a few years ago and google brought up their website. I phoned up to enquire and was quite abruptly asked what company i worked for. I said it was for me personally and was told they didn’t hire to the public, completely contradictory to their website.
I understand policies may change over time but felt quite put off them by attitude of the person I spoke to. Maybe that has been widespread.

Poorly managed, MB took place & the company was already saddled with oodles of debt.
They've went down owning a lot of small businesses a hell of a lot of cash.
Legalised fraud in my eyes

Looks like Equistone/MBO takeover was 15th December 2016 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-bus... they then bought Transflex on 4th August 2017 - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-bus... and collapsed on 28th March 2018. A pretty rapid & spectacular fall.
