Arnold gets another one

Drove past AC Bishopbriggs earlier this evening and the Renault/Dacia side is empty. Nothing on forecourt, showrooms empty and in darkness. Closed or rebranding.
That branch has been there for as long as I care to recall. I remember it vaguely as Bishopbriggs Motor Co back when I was a lad - it sold Chryslers back then

Slightly of topic but went in to Evans Halshaw to see about new car and found the person high up in the company and there for well over 20 yrs was no longer there due to Pendragon earlier cutting 1,800 jobs and proposing to close 15 of its dealership sites. Sad times for the motortrade and employees .

I grew up in Bishopbriggs, and always remember the AC garage as Renault, though I'm sure it had a petrol forecourt, possibly Burmah? The garage at the bottom of Balgrayhill Rd at the roundabout (now flats) used to be the Ashfield recovery depot at one point, as a kid I loved walking past and checking out the trucks.

Harry Fairbairn BMW in Giffnock is also up for sale. The plan is to move them both to a new site in Hillington (or at least it was pre-covid)
All the stock looks to have been moved back into the old Mini showroom in Burnfield Road when I passed today, no BMWs on the forecourt nowFlear and Thomson have picked up kia in Perth .
Toyota Mount Vernon is no more.
Skoda Inverness is no more with Hawco becoming an authorised repairer.
Lloyd have ditched Honda in Carlise leaving the Kia franchise they picked up after border cars collapse. Stan Palmer have picked up Suzuki.
John Clark have closed Cupar land rover and dropped Seat in Stirling.
Vardy will drop Vauxhall in July with most of their Vauxhall sites becoming car supermarkets
