OK as a non offshore person I've got to ask would anyone even consider dressing that way on flight?

Many years ago BP used to have "Wives Flights" on a Sunday to the platforms so they could see what their husbands "work place" was like.
You should have seen some the outfits that were worn, or attempting to be worn!.
