Stay safe everyone up there, look after yourselves.

Nearest Munro to me are couple of hours. Considering a safe hike.

There is enough conflicting advice on walk to drive ratios that If I employed Saul goodman as my lawyer I think I could ‘just about’ avoid prison though of course would be guilty as sin. No doubt.

Putting morality aside just for a second does anyone know if the barbed wire etc still up?
Everything is closed, and most shops that are open will only sell to locals, so don't expect a warm welcome! Also many of the fuel stops are on seriously reduced hours (It's just not worth them staying open - Kinlochewe now closed until Monday.

The mountain rescue teams have been asking people not to go onto the hills. Any rescue puts them in danger, both from the people being rescued and from each other. Probably would divert members from other duties they're helping out with too.

They should just refuse to rescue anyone. There is no reason to be up a hill just now and its highly irresponsible.

Nice edit. So you had a re-think about the fact that your 'boots are hanging' still makes it sorely tempting to risk lives if you were to have an accident on the mountains or roads.

Out of interest a white van just arrived in the village with a logo on the side from a London company and 6 cyclists piled out and started cycling.

Postie was apoplectic!

Are you the person who, on the corona discussions, wants a lock down until we get a vaccine?

I guess lockdowns are just for everyone else.

Any thoughts on post apocalyptic nc500 getcarter?
As people won't go abroad for a while, there'll be many more brits here, but fewer foreigners. No idea when mind. Possibly not this year.

For anyone thinking about mountains... don't.

We won't welcome any rescue callouts during covid. (mountain rescue team doc speaking here)

Anyone even still contemplating non essential travel with the death toll from Covid19 at 26,700 and climbing every minute is mind bending , . But to even think!! about walking up a mountain is absolutely and incredibly selfish ,no thought for anyone but himself ....unbelievable ,laughable .........

This is technically true at all times, to be fair. Especially if you are an old fart.
Are you saying it is always incredibly selfish?

Ambulance driver from Skye I am friends with saw 2 cars with tourists taking photos from the bridge and was raging, especially with the problem they have at the care home.

Hi all, driving the NC500 next week for first time. Most of the things me and my brother need (pub, Beach, nature, hostel) are open now but any tips in the new world? Thanks.

Not sure where you live, but bear in mind face masks are compulsory in shops here. I saw someone refused entry yesterday.
