Some nice pics there. I take it you had a good time.

I'm off to Durness ( I think) this weekend on the bike with a mate. Hopefully the weather is ok. Instead of doing the whole run this time, we have decided to go up the west side, to either Applecross or Durness, stay overnight and head back down the west side again as the east side is pretty mundane.

Johnny.

It was awesome already making arrangements for the next trip but this time we will add an extra day or perhaps two extra days :-)

Some great pics there.
I done the smaller loop today, what weather for it too, spotted a few cracking cars out and about.

I went via Drumnadrochit, Invermoriston, Dornie, Loch Carron, up the Bealach and then home via Achnasheen.
Never took a single pic though!

A friend of mine is selling up here, saying 'if I wanted to live on a racetrack, I'd have moved to Knockhill"

I would warn all folk doing the NC500 to slow down through villages, or it'll all go pear-shaped.

Seriously... I watch with hands over eyes seeing some of the astonishingly poor driving. It will end in tears unless driving standards improve.

I've seen several cases of pure stupidity in the last month, there's a yellow Corvette in the area at the moment on foreign plates,he's a particular dafty to be avoided after seeing him in action on the A82 heading into Inverness last week.Last seen outside Portree.

Always said it wasn't a good idea publicising it so much.
As you say it's going to end in tears yet.

I have been driving on these roads for 40 years in various cars starting with a clapped out MGB. Over the last few years I have noticed a lot of crazy driving
and a changing attitude of some locals, who don't live in a theme park!. When I first saw the media interest in this I also thought it will end in tears.
Several friends, and I when possible, do an annual trip, including some of the islands over several days. On occasions over the years have had enjoyable, and amusing
encounters with local police officers who wanted to look at and talk about the cars. I'm no saint, but for once I hope the Police do take positive action against offenders.
If not it will ruin it for the rest of us.

Comments duly noted, we were intending taking our time regardless but I'll advise about villages also.

The weather looks set to be quite good, long as there are no drastic changes.

I know many locals here see speed as the issue, but I don't. (Apart from in the villages - where people REALLY need to drive at 30mph).

My problem (and I don't really have a problem... it's just an annoyance) is with:

Drivers that dive at <25mph in a NSL single track road and ignore passing places.

Drivers that drive on the wrong side of a two lane road. (I followed one yesterday, flashing to try and prevent his imminent death).

Drivers that weave all over the road pointing at hills and sheep and flowers and are completely unaware of the 4 cars behind them.

Drivers that think they are being kind by stopping on blind corners to let you pass.

Drivers that, once I have stopped on a single track road, and flashed them to come, then stop 10 seconds later and flash me.

Drivers that don't thank you when you have stopped to let pass. (That is my wife's particular annoyance - she points out that it's usually women).

Drivers that run over Lambs, Pine Martens, Red Squirrels, otters etc.. as they are utterly rubbish at using their eyes (so many deaths this year, and so sad). Pisses off the farmers no end.

Drivers that don't know how to reverse (most). That is a big problem up here, as you need to reverse a lot.

Drivers that park/camp in passing places.

Not a rant I know, but an observation, none the less.
