Yes. And it's the motorhome people that don't seem to be providing any benefit to the locals.
They buy all their supplies in Tescos in Inverness and dawdle around and clog up the roads with the big signs saying "road not fit for motor homes".
If you want to dawdle around, gawping at every single thing go in a car. Eat locally. Stay in local accommodation. Pull over and let people pass. In both directions. Let the bin men through - you'll be amazed how quickly they hustle that thing around. Even more so the postie.
Just a thought.
+1 except by all their supplies in France, Belgium, Italy, Germany etcThey buy all their supplies in Tescos in Inverness and dawdle around and clog up the roads with the big signs saying "road not fit for motor homes".

And don't these motorhomes have rear view mirrors?

Any roads left to give labels too? Nobody suggest it to Argyll and Bute please, it’s still fairly quiet there.

I put a dashcam in one of my cars a few months back, and at the end of the 'season' will put up a vid showing some of the driving antics! Watch this space

It really would be a tragedy if me or anyone in my group ended up on this! I'd like to think we're a good bunch, especially now that we've experienced it previously...we just learned to be patient out there last time and we only saw the occasional caravan with the deck chairs out in a passing place! :P ...must be tearing your hair out as locals seeing this.Daily occurrences April to Sept:

Hi peeps ??
What are the road conditions like around Applecross in mid January
Thank you
Varies from year to year. Generally passable even in the snow, as long as you are behind the snow plough... but occasionally Applecross only accessible via the coast road. (Earlier this year). Never known Applecross to be totally snowed in (been here 20 years). What are the road conditions like around Applecross in mid January

Can I quiz the hive mind? I'm popping over to Torridon for Christmas, and wondering whether it's a waste of time bringing the mountain bike. Is it always snowy in the glens and lower passes?
Torridon itself is at sea level so plenty of riding around there even if high roads are snowy or more likely wet and slippy. It's not like the Alps where everything is white all winter. Unless there is a cold snap should be fun, but bring your thermals.Gassing Station | Scotland | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
