Anyone put me in the right direction to get the floor clip metal wire shortened & recrimped with new eyelet for bolting to car floor?

Thanks in advance.

can you not buy one of the length you want off a scrapper?

it's an old 60's belt - so limited choice from scrapper

I would try a company here in Aberdeen that deals in making custom safety harnesses. A quick google suggests http://www.rolands.uk.com/

Good call - I've pinged them a line - see what they come back with.

No joy, not sure if they maybe have a liability issue?

Drat..

Next up would be the sewing place on Rosemount Viaduct, over the road from the library. Yes, they are sewing, but he has a heavy duty machine and can sew leather fine. "Stitch 'n' time".

I am sure I have seen eyelets in his window, but if he is able to go that big I do not know.

maybe should have explained its one of these (wire & crimp) which needs shortened, so industrial "sewing" folk would be out.

might try rigging guys like EMM??

Ah, apologies, I had incorrectly assumed webbing.. getmecoat

Indeed, rigging, or small winch repair, or small crane repair. Crimping tools are available for hire from gibb, but a seat belt is not something you want to get wrong.

Bridon might go small enough, http://www.bridon.com/uk/ no dealings with them, so cannot say!

Some other car models might have the right size cable, with the correct mate for the belt. Why not ask in GG for cars with fitting of required length as a starting point.
