They've reduced their prices.

I wonder how bad ticket sales have been as just about every comment has ruled it out purely on cost?

With ticket fees it's now

£41.34 for an adult
£20.14 for 6-16
£104.94 for 2 adults and 2 kids

There is still no tickets at the gate.

Cost is not important if it turns out to be the event of the year, we shall have to wait and see. Most quality events I've attended have cost considerably more when traveling and accommodation costs are included.
Goodwood
Oulton Park GT's and Gold Cup
Prescott VSCC.
Brands Hatch
Brooklands.
Retromobile
Techno Classica Essen

Been to events/race meetings at all of these in last 2 or 3 years, £40 plus fuel to Inveraray and back will be a bargain if it's even half as good as any of the above.

Travel costs are irrelevant to entry prices.

It's the prices and not knowing how good it'll be that makes it tough to justify. You're local so you don't have much travelling time, but I've got a 4 hour drive and would probably end up staying over the night before.

I'm not sure how big the event will be. Will an event with a 5000 per day capacity be remotely close to Goodwood? I can see a small list of cars, but it's not extensive.

I've seen a few people using the term "Scottish Goodwood". I'm not sure if either I'm underestimating the size of this event, or they are vastly overestimating it?

I've never been to Inverary Castle before, but a quick search of Google images doesn't show many suitable roads within the grounds for demonstration runs. Anyone idea what the "inner track" is they are going to use for demonstrations?

Yeah, I am only an hour way, I gave it a miss last year for the same reason. It is more expensive than ignition fest was and it was MASSIVE (one I strongly recommend actually, that is well worth the £30).

This is the first year for this festival.

Ignition tickets still ended up discounted in Itison.

Sorry, must just be the 2nd time I looked at Argyll this year. It just doesn't look big enough to demand the premium that it demands. That being said I don't think young 'poor' car enthusiast are their target demographic, pricing might be their way of keeping it an old boys club.

They're already being more flexible with car clubs attending - previously cars had to be on site from Friday evening until the event finished on Sunday. Now you can get the car in Saturday morning, and take it away Saturday evening.

I want this to be good, and if the prices keep the riff-raff away then that's fine by me; but I won't pay the prices until I know it's a decent event, so I'll probably give it a miss this year but will watch with interest

Not really any other way of doing it having a two day festival. Most people will need their car to get home or to a hotel.

The issue with leaving on the Saturday night is if the show doesn't go too well on the Saturday, or the weather is bad, it's a stick on that they'll not reappear on Sunday.

Here's a list of car on demo.

The Porsche 917 is a replica. That's something they should be pointing out.

Has this been cancelled?

They took lots of posts off Facebook of cars that were advertised as attending and they've taken the same off their actual website. I noticed a few days ago.

The link to purchase tickets has also been removed from Facebook and their own website. An internet search finds the link, but it's dead. Other ticket sites say unavailable.

Doesn't look good.

That's a shame. They did price themselves too high and there wasn't much information about the layout and day to make it sound like a big event. It didn't inspire confidence.

Too many events up here fail to live up to the hype. It'll further harm confidence now this has gone belly up.

I wonder if they'll have the means to refund tickets already bought?

I'm sure I read that none of the local hotels had rooms left either. A shame they'll lose all their trade or people lose money they've already paid for a room without cancellation.

That is a shame, be interesting to hear the reasons. May well be they just haven't sold enough tickets.

Wonder how much they've made off the non-refundable booking fee ?

The non-returnable booking fee is kept by See Tickets as their fee.The organisers will not make anything out of it.
