So, the "Argyll Festival of Performance" - what exactly do you get for your £40 entry fee? It sounds like the usual example of car clubs being asked to bring along nice cars, and then charging the owners for the privilege of standing around in a field all day.

Sounds suspiciously like someone charging you to use your car for profit? What am I missing here? Surely there must be more for £40 - a hillclimb maybe?

Does look pricey - I'd be £70 with my young boy tagging along. Think they should look at excellent Deeside event as a marker on costs.

Looks like it's going to be a posh car show. £80 for me and the missus, fuel there and back and probably extortionately priced food means it's a "no" for me.
A shame really because it could've been a decent event along the lines of the Bo'ness Revival.

As said on an earlier thread, I am moving to a place relatively local sometime this year but won't be spending my money taking wife and son along in the TVR or Caterham just so that kids in coats with zippers and sticky fingers can scratch them.

Years ago I attended an event (1980's) and there were people jumping in and out of a mates Lotus 7, standing on the side exhaust for a better view .....

Free entry for exhibits should be the first thing anyway, but any shows I attend I usually leave my car in the car park amongst the mundane stuff, with the exception possibly of Cars in the Park at Newby Hall or the small select shows at Walworth or Hurworth in Yorkshire

People complained about £15 for that. £40+ fees(£42.40) is quite steep. Parking isn't free either.

£30+fees(£31.80) for 5years+ is plain unreasonable.

They'll need a spectacular line up to justify the prices.

Is it just a static show? Makes it even harder to justify those prices.

Deeside Speed Festival charges £40 for a family of 4. The same will cost over £150 for this. That's way too much.

I'm assuming the price is to deter the kind of folk that would sit on your car etc, although I agree too steep.

I'm going to see what this turns out like and then maybe go to the next one

I can see them struggling to get this one off the ground.

Deeside Speed Fest has moved their date forward. There's only two weeks between the events now. I'd imagine a lot of the same cars will be on display.

Not only are the ticket prices too ambitious both days are the same program and there is no tickets on the gate. There is no reason to go both days ignoring the cost and families will not shell out £150 for tickets in fear of a wash out.

I'll anticipate a cheap Groupon/Itison deal nearer the time.

The Ingliston Revival festival have ended up on Itison both years and the £20 tickets reduced to £10. Ignition Festival at the SEC also ended up on Groupon. It was £70 for a family of 5 prior to discount.

Not much activity on their Facebook page to suggest a big interest.

Looking at their website there are quite a few unique elements to this festival.

Prestige car and memorabilia auction, concours d’elegance, 25 top car clubs, 4x4 demonstrations, vintage bus rally, trade village with Ferrari, McLaren, Lamborghini, Bentley, Maserati, Tesla etc exhibiting, plus they plan to demonstrate some very interesting cars such as the ex-Jackie Stewart Tyrrell 001 and the unique 1912 Fiat “Beast of Turin”.

They are also running vintage buses to/from their park and ride car park, plus there is a free “interesting” car park if you are arriving in a pre-1999 car.

The Jim Clark Trust is the chosen charity with a donation being made with each ticket sold.

So there should be a lot to see and there are more announcements to follow.

Not really massively different to the Deeside Speed Fest outside the auction, vintage buses and a handful of cars.

I'd rather walk to my car than wait on vintage buses to move thousands of people.

I see its been cancelled. Don't know the reason, but I imagine feedback on ticket prices must be a factor....

Edit: Apologies for bumping this thread, didn't spot the other
