3 and 4 year gaps between services are certainly not good, even with low miles; services should definitely be done at least every 2 years regardless of mileage.

Car is probably OK but I'd ideally be looking for more than a 3 month warranty.

Don't know how good the price is but I'd proceed with caution.

Good luck.

I'd say they gave up on the scheduled maintenance due to low mileage. It's just had a major service at OPC Chester so you should be good to go.

I wouldn't worry. The only thing it has missed that is truly time critical at the mileage will be brake fluid changes - and it's just had one of those.

The health check in 2018 wouldn't be any servicing would it?

Service intervals are as much as 5 years apart if so. It's too long.

I'd want far more than a 3 month warranty on a car of this value.

I'd be a little suspicious, would wonder why a car like this has been skimped on re the servicing.

There's plenty about for that price with low milage and way better service history.

Also, wait until you try to sell it, the gaps in history will suddenly be more of a problem and be used to bash you down on price.

In reality it may be perfectly ok....but doubt is always there..

Massive premium for the low mileage here, a good 30k miles car could be had for 50-60

Services wouldn't bother me too much given mileage, but it is 12 years old and things perish even if not driven. I thought any dealer had to offer 6 months warranty?

Worth noting the only cost options (amongst all the flannel) are:

sports chrono - the must have
short shifter
heated seats
MFSW
cruise
park assist

the seats are the standard ones, the optional adaptive sports seats are much nicer

I had a few issues with this seller, the car I bought wasn't as well mechanically prepared as I thought it was. In fairness they did offer some compensation back for some of the expenditure I incurred. I agree that the service gaps will be used as a lever if you come to sell but this should diminish as the years go by and the stamps mount up if you plan to use the car.

I was looking at this one, which looks a much better bet to me with a 2 year OPC warrantee.

In the end I opted to keep my 911 and put a deposit down on a Taycan (to replace another car).

+1
This one looks a far better bet, save £15k and get an OPC 2-year warranty, no brainer !!

Yep, that one is my old car.

Personally I'd say it was a much, much better buy than the CSC car, I had it for over 7 years, it wanted for nothing and had a full OPC history as well as OPC warranty throughout the time I owned it. Apart from that it's a very high spec gen 1.5 car with the Bluetooth PCM, better satnav, and other features the gen 1 cars don't have. And it's younger, and 15k less.

I suspect the reason it's not sold quickly are that a lot of people don't like the black alloys.. it may be a bit "too black", but you could ask them to get these swapped over or diamond cut and polished to the standard wheels if so.

I don't think you would get an OPC warranty on the CSC car as it doesn't have a history that would meet the needs of the underwriter, and I wouldn't run one of these without an OPC warranty - a small issue can run into thousands, they are "proper" supercars so you should expect supercar bills if things do go wrong.

Also, 78k is a massive premium for a gen 1 997 turbo IMHO, put 7 or 8k miles on that and you will lose 15-20k quickly.

I've nothing to gain in recommending my old turbo as the OPC bought it off me when I bought my GT3 from them, I'd just like to see it go to an enthusiast rather than sitting around in the dealer. These do need to be driven! They have dropped the price a lot since they bought it from me (and they paid me more than this so they are cutting losses now - suspect if you made them a reasonable offer they would take it).

My opinion overpriced low mileage doesn't warrant that premium and spec is not that high a 30k top spec car newer and save 10k. on positive it is manual but I d o not know how much a premium this demands good hunting

Agree with the others...

If you're going to use it, ignore the mileage.

Loads of gen 1.5 or 2 cars out there for the same or less money.

Think you are right, were they black from factory as I sometimes suspect they have been painted to hide damage

Would look much better with silver on the lip IMHO

At that money you'd be so much better off with a low miles 991 turbo s if a turbo your bag.

Also I think 991 GT3 (and 997 GT3 already is) will soon be in your price bracket and certainly the GT3 much more a weekend fun car. Sid at Porsche Torque still has his 46k mile 997.1 GT3 for sale - its a lovely car and what I'd maybe consider if I wanted a weekend fun weekend and odd track day car that should not depreciate much.

To my knowledge they were "factory black" - I bought the car with the wheels in this colour when it was about 3 years old, and had them refurbished last year when I put a new set of tyres on, as they were starting to look tatty. I did think about having them polished up as per standard, but I personally liked the black on black look.

I agree with the subsequent point about GT3s though. The turbo is an amazing daily driver that makes an insane weekend car when you press on, but I swapped this car for a GT3 as I was lucky enough to have another car as a daily driver, and I wanted something with a bit more theatre. I love my 991 GT3 as it ticks this box and then some, but you're looking at another 40k+ for a good one of those... which is quite a step up.

I don't get this..£70k + car and the owner can't be bothered to spend a few quid servicing it once a year.

Even my sheds get the occasional oil change.

To be fair, the 997 turbo servicing schedule is every 2 years or 20,000 miles, and at 9,000 miles this one appears to have had 2 OPC services and 2 interim oil changes so its hardly been ruined! The servicing schedule is based on fairly regular use, and up to 20,000 miles between oil changes, looking at this cars history, the most its done between oil changes is 3,600 miles, and that was just before the last OPC major service so I really don't know what all the fuss is about?! Its definitely not cheap, but then when SCOM are asking £80k for a 6,000 miles tiptronic, it doesn't look silly either?!

agree with you the service thing is being way overdone here. That SCOM car is plain silly, and it is missing the only must have option - SC
