Ads From Microsoft

I am getting ads from Microsoft into my email inbox. It shows as the first (top) email.

How can I prevent this? The delete function does not seem to be available for this "email".

Is this free version (hotmail/outlook) or business (office365)?

If the free version you can remove ads buy upgrading to premium - https://premium.outlook.com/?sl=1

Or you can use an ad blocker such as various chrome add ins or setup pihole on your network to block adds at DNS level.

I am using Yahoo Mail. It is free, but today they have started putting an ad at the top of the inbox. I have an adblocker, but it doesn't seem to work on these ads.

I can get rid of them by upgrading to Yahoo Mail Pro, apparently.

To answer my own question.

I removed, or disenabled (is that a word?) the adblockers on my PC and then enabled them again, and now my emails are ad free again.
