C tek charger error

Had my ctek a few years

Recently I'm getting the red error light once the car has been hooked a couple of days. Car battery is almost new. I get the usual lights once connected as it goes through the checks. But when I next go in the garage it's gone into stand by with the red error light.

Genuine car fault or dodgy charger? Of course it's impossible for all you internet experts to say but wondered if anyone had similar?

I've only had that problem with a borderline-old and completely flat battery. I put an old fashioned charger on the battery for a couple of hours, then the CTEK worked ok.
