Some stats on A90 speeding this year

“8,430 drivers were snapped speeding between Aberdeen and Dundee in 2022 to the end of October… At least 3,639 of them were caught at the infamous Laurencekirk junction, where the speed limit drops to 50mph”

I count it near guaranteed to see a camera van around Dundee on the A90 every day. Today’s Waze

Given how often they are on the Kingsway (A90) on the lower 40/50 limits, I’d be interested to know if those figures included there (at night, in the dark with their night vision…). suspect they get a few there.

Thats crazy! Is there photographic evidence of people actually being caught with infrared speed cameras? excuse my ignorance but thats unheard of where we live.

Im tempted to do a FOI request specifically to understand how many have been caught with the average speed cameras.

Yep they are regularly on the A94 on dark evenings so the more traditional route to Aberdeen is covered too!

How in the hell is anyone let alone 3600 people getting caught at the Laurencekirk 50mph zone?

It's the most obvious of any speed camera section on the planet.

The folk I’ve heard being done there seem to have been on Autopilot & just went though it without adjusting cruise control, which is a tad worrying!

Fife have the night vision kit as well - occasionally seen in the layby as you pass Ladybank heading north frown

Now they just need to remove the random 50mph signs dotted about just after forfar as you head north.

Passed that tonight. Another one that seems to have made zero sense since the birth of Christ.

Yes, the random 50mph signs are, I think, leftover since they were doing some other work.
Thing is , just after the 50 sign northbound there is the NSL sign on a lamppost, that’s the one I go by.

Was on a speed awareness course in England the other week.

Yes, you go by the last sign you went through.

There's still one 50mph sign on the southbound carriageway too, I passed it today.
