ok chaps, heading home to Glasgow today from Skye and fancy making it interesting - reckon on taking steve's (carter - www.stevecarter.com/bestuk.htm) route up to Ullapool, and back down to Ft William via Loch Ness after doing the top loop. I am leaving in about an hour, so if anyone fancies a sunday hoon then I'll be in the black 182! :D Eventually I will arrive home, but what's the hurry!

The weather was perfect, clear blue sky with the odd cloud on the best bit, overcast from Loch Ness until Glencoe when the sun came out! I had the most amazing drive, the traffic was light where it mattered, and tourists soon got out of the way and into the passing places!

My route was as follows: A87, then left onto the A890 at Auchtertyre, then left onto the A896 just after Strathcarron, through Shieldaig until you get to Kinlochewe where you go left onto the A832. Keep going through Gairloch and Poolewe until you reach a junction. I went right, onto the A835, towards Inverness. Just after Contin, turn right onto the A832 towards Muir of Ord, then bear right again onto the A862 and Beauly. Follow signs for Drumnadrochit and the A833, and you'll end up on the A82. Keep going!

ah, well, actually I'm down south at the moment as I'm building a 'fairly' grand design up there, so all you would have seen (by Loch Torridon) is a JCB!
