Hello,
If anyone wishes to go to this event but can't because it is full, please email Colin at Javelin to let him know. He will then see how many PH members want to go on the Sunday, and he may organise an additional event.
Cheers
Arggh. Was on holiday for 2 weeks, and now its full - I've emailed Colin about the 5th...
Well - i didnt make it onto the track for cash reasons, but i came and had a look as i have never been to any sort of motorsport before. Was there for the last 30 mins or so of the sat session - couldnt find the main bunch of cars / pits tho. Was it through the line of bollards signposted to the car park?
It looked really good fun and i am defo gonna do the next one. Hopefully the weather will be just as good !
I have some piccys and videos of the corner action if anyone can tell me how to publish them on here.
I noticed that everyone seemed to leave en mass - were you all off somewhere for a shandy? I was in the Corrado looking lost !

The main paddock is in the centre of the track! That's why you couldn't find it and why everyone appeared to leave en-mass. You can only enter and exit when there is a track closure (although if you're booked on they let you enter and exit under a yellow flag with everyone else still circulating).

I was there on the Sunday, and the organiser (Colin from Javelin) said a TVR had a spin and did a wing and also a bit of the other side too... not too good.
A few 'hot hatch' types on the Sunday... one of whom (2 driver car, but both a bit OTT) after a warning managed to spin out through a tyre wall... just before I was about to request an interegnum for another bit of tttish behaviour... seemed he preempted me by taking himself out.
Oh well. Ying and yang...

I was there on the saturday - the GT3 with the misfire and sticking caliper and for the few sessions I was on track I actually thought the driving standard was reasonable, but I left before lunch, so it may have deteriorated as people became more comfortable in the afternoon.
The bloke in the TVR is a friend of mine and fortunately there was only cosmetic damage - scratches on both sides, fibreglass held up and didn't crack, so just some paintwork and a new exhaust bracket and it's back to square one....fortunate considering.
As for the track itself, very good, fast corners, however I would still say the surface is still suspect - in a car like mine I was still turning and accelerating hard when the surface changed to the bumpy stuff and it seriously unsettled the car - on the back straight I was tipping the brakes on the bumps again and it was making the ABS kick in, which screwed the entry to the corner, so never really got a rhythm sorted for the circuit - although I imagine it was possible to drive around this with a few more laps - certainly wouldn't put me off going back.
The worst thing about the day - the 43 minute "safety briefing" which included a whine/lecture from the Javelin bloke - inconsiderate isn't strong enough a term considering it was -1C with a windchill of -10C or so.
