I have an interview in Aberdeen tomorrow so I am heading up tonight. My route takes me A90 then A96. These are fairly major roads so will they be clear or is the snow really as terrible as the media have been implying?

Any advice greatly received. Needless to say, sleeping bag, shovel, food & water will be in the car with me just in case.

Heavy snowfall this morning 3-4" here in Westhill.

I came up the road to Aberdeen from Edinburgh last night and the snow was drifiting accross thw A90 from Brechin upwards to Aberdeen. Down to 10 MPH most of the way. Nice and sunny now after the snow, roads are melting fine in the sun rays. Hope it does not freeze tonight. A96 always bad with snow North of Aberdeen. leave early.

A wee shower of snow in the city centre today but not bad. As Jamie says, the worst bits are the exposed sections of the A90 where it drifts.

Good luck, hope it stays fair.

How's the Exige in the snow Ali?

Noble is confined to barracks at Murray Motors. Been there for a week now. No bottle to drive it back to Aberdeen in the snow just yet!

Sunny and warm out Deeside way at the moment.

Currently +2.9°C, low during the night (last night) was -2.2°C.

BBC forecast looks fine (if you set any store by it).

Cheers,

Eric

Anyone know where I can get a long range forecast covering the highlands?

Would ideally like any snow/ice thawed and the roads numpty free from 23 to 27 March.

Was a bit hairy going down to East Fortune yesterday at 5am.
On snow there is a complete lack of grip from the A048s...slo-mo powerslides at will though.

Cheers,
Ali

Daz... by then you'll need Ambre Solaire. Numpties only get out at about 11.00. Drive early!

Going anywhere nice?

Hi Steve,

No! Just a 1 year service thank god! Car working just great.

Roads are bad here tonight also and living on the side of a hill means there is no way a Noble will get up it so Murrays are keeping it nice and warm.

A wise move in keeping the Noble indoors - I managed to get my digger stuck on my road yesterday! Drifts were up to my shoulders (and I'm 6ft 1).

Dug my way out but only way of getting about until it'd packed down was in the Fastrac - fairly gets those pesky X5 and Cayenne drivers out of the way when you're doing 50mph looking down on their sunroofs.

Jamie.....Could be a while till you are able to get the M400 up that hill. Erm...... Maybe I could nip into Murrays and keep it ticking over on the hot side for you, till you get a thaw going up there. Always happy to help - just let me know.

Hi Steve,

I nipped down this morning and picked the car up. Got up the hill to my house OK.

Thanks for the offer though!
