Travelling to Kames this weekend?

Anyone travelling to Kames from North of Glasgow should be aware that there are major roadworks on the M74 at Raith junction. We went that way last sunday, and sat in a stationary traffic jam for well over one hour.
My advice is to find your way to Whitburn just off the M8 and then travel cross-country to Kames from there - either that or get up very early - you don't want to be late for scrutineering, do you?.....
