My son, son-in-law and I drove some single seaters at the Autodrome, and yes I did manage to fit in !

Son keeping it all together - in his own words - well borrowed from Ooor Wullie actually - it was a rare treat !

Son-in-law pushing the no overtaking rule to its limits !

Myself with son following.

It was a hair raising experience for some

Glad you enjoyed it - however, cannot see the pix - is it me?

What did you think of Dubai as a destination? I've heard mixed reports - some say 'tis great, others dismiss it as a huge building site. And you? (Looking for somewhere to go next year. . .)

Cheers,
Iain

Dubai is an odd place, it is like one large building site, but the city still manages to function despite that.

The parks, beaches etc are excellent, the restaurants are generally very good with service you would find hard to beat anywhere and the food is not expensive - However, drinking is expensive, last night five of us went for dinner to a really classy chinese, the food was around £30/head, the wine was £45/bottle, the cheapest bottle of wine in the place was £25 !

Loads to do, as well, we obviously did the single seaters, will be doing some carting today and we are dune buggy driving tomorrow.

The big attraction for me though is that my daughter lives here soo I come to visit her. She lives 5min drive from the Autodrome which is a spectacular developement, the circuit, which can be split into three seperate circuits, is complete as are some of the grandstands, the parking and hotels etc are still under construction - as is most of Dubai it seems.

I would certainly recommend it.

Thats a pity

I can see them OK but it could be the photoshare website that is the problem.

You could try right clicking and copy and paste the address into the address bar. or just copy and paste the one below to try it.

I canny see the pics either, but I'd like to. I've bought a flat (completed in a few months from now) in a building called 'Lake View' in the Jumeirah Lakes area, but I've never set foot in Dubai and I'd love to see what at least a bit of it is like.

Bugger ! mad

I can only see one picture myself now. I am not very good at this stuff.

I will have to try again when I get into the office on Wed.

The pics don't show Dubai, just a couple of corners at the Autodrome.

Hope you like you apartment when you get into it, I will have to check out where it is, sounds good though.

We are off to the Irish Village tonight so see in the New Year, kilts will be worn and much beer shall be drunk.

Yup, I've had the pics all along.

We'll have to get over to there next year sometime...direct flights from Lagos with Virgin.
