I would also be interested in an Inverness area meet. I drive a black MK1 TVR Tuscan in Kildary area.
Have to say the weather may have been a bit wet but nice and mild. Managed to get a good 700 miles covered in the last few weeks with runs around Sutherland and north & south of Gairloch. If I'm going to put miles on the car, may as well make them ones to remember.

I occasionally get to motor through Inverness on the way to Thurso, but not often.
Its not fair... I'm jealous at the thought of hooning on the Highlands roads while I contemplate tonights journey around the M25 weeping

I see the member map is up and running again for this area (although it's got my house wrong by about 15 miles).

I found by clicking on the member directory and then look down the left hand side and you will see member map.
Very good idea that. Should really get a meet organised for better weather.

Nah, Edinburgh but I only moved here just before Christmas. As it happens I'd already updated my profile anyway

I don't tend to have much concept of distance though I'm happy to travel for hours for a run or going out with the camera etc. "Nipped" up to Glencoe a couple of weeks ago for example

Inverness is certainly the focal point for my search for a home though - I need to be about an hour/hour and a half from a decent airport (ie flies to Heathrow) and have broadband but apart from those two criteria, the (housing) world is my oyster.

I did end up taking the car out briefly yesterday (between rain showers) but it wasn't much fun. Even taking off at 2000rpm at the lights was met with lots of wheel spin and little forward movement!

I get that at most of the roundabouts and junctions around here when it's damp and that's only an S2k, let alone a Viper hehe

You might want to investigate the service to LHR from INV - It's pretty pants (often having to change in stupid places). Although there are direct flights, they tend not to be at good times or budget prices. Having said that Gatwick is only 30 mins train from Victoria... so it kind depends which bit of London you need. I have a flight booked next week £8.21 (plus taxes of course)

Likewise, I have a return Luton/Inverness easyjet flight booked for something £35 (including taxes). Was something like £12 return without the taxes.

Good point. It's actually Reading I go to, so it has to be LHR or possibly Southampton. Budget isn't tooo bad as the company is paying

Or I could finish my PPL (15 years late)...hmmm there's a thought
