Does anyone know of a good wheel refurb place in or near to Glasgow. The wheels are pretty big and expensive (20" Oz wheels for an XKR) so I'm looking for someone who knows their stuff.

I used Wheel Centre in Cambuslang to do the OZs on my TVR last year. They charged £140 for the four wheels and did a really good job on them.

I'd also be interested in any recommendations as need to get mine done sometime soon...

They had the wheels for a week. They could have got them back to me sooner but I could only get through to Cambuslang at the weekends. They have loan sets of wheels you can use if it means that your car will be off the road while your wheels are being refurbished.

A week is a long time to refurbish wheels although i do understand you are away.

I have not had mine done for years but remember it was a day job, maximum of 24 hrs.

To be honest, its probably worth it anyway. I've got to get my Plymouth wheels and my clio wheels done so may take a wee trip down to these folk too.

Do they offer different finishes etc?

Regards,

Matthew

I had my wheels cleaned and polished but they do powder coating as well. Check out their web site for details

Spoke to them today. Seems ok but definitely dont offer the finished i use to get elsewhere years ago. Regardless, i suppose i'm just after the metallic flake finish which he says will do for £47/17" wheel and £52/20" wheels + VAT.

Try explaining to the guy its 2x17's and 2x20's!

If your looking for a special finish try ESP Powder Coating, 100 Eastvale Pl, Glasgow
Tel 0141 336 3800.

It's a guy called Trevor who runs the place, he's been doing it for years and he really takes a pride in his work, he did the wheels on my old M3, and also the shadow chrome ones on my pals M5 and did a fantastic job on both.

He can replicate most finishes and can also do almost any colour.
