I like Bann's, Sweet Melida's and Hendersons for good value food. Hendersons have music at the weekends and usually no booking, nice and accessible as well.

The Canny Mans pub 237 Morningside Rd. A nice cosy pub, with an open sandwich menu, with just about any filling you could think of. Real Ale and more malt Whisky than you can shake a stick at.
I still miss the place, a we bit far from the Shire.

My favourite Thai restaraunts is SongKran 2 in Stockbridge , 8 Gloucester street (the India place corner) It's a great little place for a couple , with some of the best Thai food i've had in the U.K.

It's not the cheapest but I think they do some good set meals which are better value.

You could say that

Seeing her again tonight.

But to be honest, either LA has pretty low standards, or it's gone downhill since he went (the St Stephens St Thai - Guildford Arms was booked up for a function). It wasn't all that to be honest, both in terms of ambience/decor and the food.

Time 4 Thai, on North Castle St that I took someone else to last night was much much better. Reasonable too - 60 quid for two including two bottles of wine. Got a second date out of that one too

Don't get me wrong mate, I trust your opinion - I just think it's been left languishing. It had the air of somewhere that was once comfortable and intimate but is now just...cold.
