That really sucks! The only person I would recommend for doing an immaculate job of repairing that would be Alan Scott in Banchory. There isn't better in the north-east.

Yeah my mate Mike mentioned there name yesterday. The Audi/VW garage got back to me with a quote of £1100+vat. Don't imagine the guy is going to be happy with this and expect problems getting it sorted.

Thanks for the offer. Although I think my baby will be residing at home from now on.

Bolt WTF happened. I will give you a call later this week.

Really sorry to see the damage.

Hope you get it sorted.

If not, nail his head to a passing S2000. (That'll learn him).

Avril,

Not good.

Tonight (Tuesday 27th), I believe that Watchdog (BBC1 19:00) has a feature on airport 'secure' parking.

Might be worth a watch since it's so topical for you.

Cheers,

Eric

Here it is, It refers to Gatwick but still makes interesting reading.

Well that's the beast heading off tomorrow to get repaired. It's going to take two weeks.!! eek Apart from the front wing the whole side has to be resprayed. Can tell I have been out of the motor trade for a while as I thought it would only be a few days lol. Just have to wait for the mirror coming from Canada and he will be as good as new.

Carpark been great about it. After initial confusion about the insurance not covering the damage it has been sorted out and paid for. They have insurance but at a very high excess so it was better out of there pocket as the damage cost less. I will never complain about a measly £250 excess again after I was told how much lol.

I just thank my lucky stars I bought another car as I will be back and fore to aberdeen 6 times in the next two weeks and would have been bu66ered without a motor!

Bcensoredrds, I've had two nearly new cars damaged in car parks in the last two years so I know how it feels.

I'd advise getting a recommended bodyshop rather than assuming a big company will do a good job (see other topics, help needed please ). I had my MINI repaired at a BMW main dealer, they gave me the leaflet telling me their repair system was second to none, told me the car would look 'better than the day it came out of the factory', they returned it with a crap paint job and a scratch on the door. Had to sell the car as I was never happy with it again weeping

And at the risk of teaching granny to suck eggs, if there's anything at all you're not happy with when it comes back, reject it.

As soon as you accept the car, you're on much shakier ground with regard to getting cockups/shoddy work etc fixed.

Wot he said

Also. might sound daft but FEEL the paint once the job's done. I had a respray that looked OK but when I was washing the car noticed the finish was all grainy, too late to do anything about it by then.
