I have had a set of Alloys replaced on my 2 yr old Accord for the same reason - corrosion. Particularly around the hub and on the edge of the spokes. Mine is a company car, so I wouldn't have had to pay for it anyway, but I do recall that it was done under warranty.

I've discovered that a friend's father (AAccord estate) had the same problem - replaced under warranty.

Sounds like a design flaw. The wheels referred to above were all the 17" "Y"-shaped spokes brushed aluminium coloured wheels.

Garage was Chatham @ Sighthill (Edinburgh) for me. Very helpful team there. Not sure where friend's dad had his done.

Hope this helps.

I have similar issues on my last three cars (toyota, bmw and lexus).... heard best to wait till out of warranty and then get them refurbished. They then dont corrode again as the coating is much thicker when they do it.

Why manufacturers wont put on a thicker coating in the first place beats me
