Great pics, now I know how far into the dirt I was on Sunday, I think I got lucky not hurting the car (No 47)
I thoroughly endorse all the comments above about the organisation of the event, well done to all involved it is greatly appreciated by all the competitors.

PM me with a snail mail addy and i can send you a CD of the days pics
went up on the sunday and enjoyed it greatly. the weather was a bit crap but made for some exciting action on track.
as has been said before see if it would be possible to clear the undergrowth from the hairpin to just past finish line. this may not be allowed as people could then stand in the carpark and watch the action, could solve this by making spectators pay at the entrance to the carpark, i couldn't see this as too much trouble.
eta: was it true that number 30, evo 9 had only 17 miles on the clock when it turned up on the saturday? if so that driver must have some balls to throw the car about like that, especially round the hairpin.

Anyone see the bastard that side swiped my audi in the Fintray carpark. Not quite the same damage as the EVO but damaged none the less. If the person wants to get in touch I can arrange for them to get their red paint back. And if you are reading this then I hope the same thing happens to you some day.

Perhaps 30/45mins for lunch (if that's enough for the marshals to get fed and have a comfort break) would allow a 3rd practice even with more than 100 entrants
Well done

Agree with most of the comments so far - it was great for me to be at my first 'full' event for so long - Broomstick will be restored to his proper owner's hands for June Doune - watch this space as he will have a new mystery honorary Warlock for the weekend too ...
As to Stiglet's comments, a few years ago I'd have echoed / seconded them - however, having been a bit more involved with organisation recently I realise it's a BIG balancing act for the CoC - to 3rd practice or not to 3rd practice. The problem, particularly with the varying conditions, is if you go for the extra run and then there's an off like Winston's with the Evo, and you lose a lot of time with recovery, you then still have to finish the event, and you have the knowledge that some people have to get back to Ayrshire or Caithness, and would like to do so before midnight! You also have to think of the marshalls stuck on the hill for several hours - 15 minutes extra on lunch may not seem a lot to competitors but to the marshalls it means a lot!! Personally I think George made the right decision (don't tell him I'm agreeing with him anyone tho - I do have my reputation to keep up!) by going straight into timed runs.

Well done to all who took part...i think i'm catching the bug as i've done little else than look for radicals and westfields since arriving home!

The more the merrier, If you are thinking of joining the fun just speak to any of the drivers most will be happy to show off their car and persuade you that it is the best class to be in.
As per EVO experience, best to get a real competition (non-road)car, personaly, having great fun (and success) in a standard Radical Clubsport. Probably the most fun per buck in the paddock
Also would like to add my thanks to the GAC, the poor (rather damp?) marshals, all who managed to go to the work parties, fellow competitors et al..
For Stiglet however Congrats on class win

Tutties, i'm sorry to hear about your car.
Were you parked near the top of the hill?
If so, then there was a bright red 106XS being a little(!) lairy with the throttle p there. I'm not quite what he was doing because i was concerned he would get mud up the side of my car so i made a sharp exit. Sadly i don't remember anything else about the car, if it was even the culprit, other than the fact it had a set of larger than standard alloys on it.

' Not disputing that for a moment G4 man (as I suspect it's not b'stick lady's post!) As it turned out I suspect it was exactly the correct call. It might be different on a bak(er)ing hot day though. With over 100 entries a 3rd run was always touch and go.

Who's June Doune and does Nina know about her?..

Grovel to the grey G4 man Mr P! It was the Witch herself!! You can tell the difference (as Mr Kiltie will know!) from my far superior spelling and grammar, and the standard of the typos where my fingers aren't as quick as my brain - doh!!
Can anyone out there help me? I've got about 1 hrs. worth of DVD Video footage of Fintray over the 2 days. Problem is that theyr'e on 3 x DVD-RW 1.4gb discs. Anyone know how to transfer this so that I can either post it up or whatever. I'm sure I've got just about every competitor at various points on the track. If nothing else the sound is good in 5.1 ch.

You can you know - there's a class designed for TVRs et al!! The marque class A8 was set up for - I have to be careful here - politics you know!! - 'proper' sports cars so they could play with each other on a comparitively level playing field without being totally blown out of the water by the Locaterfields which can shame some of the racing cars these days!! You probably know Bob Lewis? He used to campaign his TVR as did John Hall a few years back - and TVR was one of the marques thought of when this class was formed - it runs to standard MSA road car regs which are tighter than the Scottish road car regs and allow for less mods, and the return of a TVR to the sport would be welcomed with open arms by all.
Come on - what are you waiting for?!

Go to www.scottish-hillclimbing.co.uk and then go to the information page. Click on the 'Getting Started in Hillclimbing and Sprinting in Scotland' link and it should tell you all you need to know.
Scottish Championship regulations can also be downloaded there (most events run to championship classes) - anything else you need to know, give me a call any weekend or come out to the house for a chat (always best to phone first, to make sure we are not out doing something daft with cars...).
