Saw a silver Mondeo SF57 something, which had pulled a driver near Paisley Rd West.
Had flashing blue strobes in rear light cluster but no visual lights in windows.

New car in Motherwell

Dark blue ford focus 5 door TDI. Didnt catch the reg number. Lots of flashing lights in front and back windows

I wonder if the police are doing themselves any favours with this stealth approach?

If they used the cars for detecting unisured/stolen vehicles i would be more sympathetic , but if just used for mobile phones or other low level offending then it seems counter productive to allocate resources in this way. Can't see these cars have the equipment to do the stolen car etc identification

Police seem VERY high profile in Motherwell area just now

Hope they are with all offending!

^^agree.

Presumably the Police want to reduce crime which they do by visible policing in marked cars.

Unmarked units are only useful to catch people once the crime has been committed, which is not what the Police want, right?

(don't answer that hehe)

Can't help myself....

Section 17 (1)(a) of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967 clearly states that is the duty of the constables of a police force to... prevent the commission of offences.

I have had occasion recently to ask a constable whether he remembered making any oath or declaration to carry out these duties, but he didn't seem to get my point.

No surprise there really.

Tayside Police have an unmarked volvo S60, plate is SP56 (TPF) I think! Dark Blue/Black colour. Would have been nice if the driver had indicated instead of nearly running me over as I crossed the road.

Just spotted a black F10 5 series with lights behind the grille joining onto the Bannockburn services roundabout, with the same SN60 prefix as their Jags.

Spotted a dark blue Focus style yesterday on Riverside Drive in Aberdeen. I think the reg was SV60 ECM and then about an hour later another one in Bridge of Don but I didn't catch the reg.

Was in one of the pull ins around Kinross behind another car with the hidden rear lights flashing. Not sure if he had pulled the car or was sitting with it until recovery came.

Looked dark blue to me FWIW but did not get the reg.
