New car in Motherwell
Dark blue ford focus 5 door TDI. Didnt catch the reg number. Lots of flashing lights in front and back windows
I wonder if the police are doing themselves any favours with this stealth approach?
If they used the cars for detecting unisured/stolen vehicles i would be more sympathetic , but if just used for mobile phones or other low level offending then it seems counter productive to allocate resources in this way. Can't see these cars have the equipment to do the stolen car etc identification
Police seem VERY high profile in Motherwell area just now
Hope they are with all offending!

(don't answer that )
Can't help myself....Section 17 (1)(a) of the Police (Scotland) Act 1967 clearly states that is the duty of the constables of a police force to... prevent the commission of offences.
I have had occasion recently to ask a constable whether he remembered making any oath or declaration to carry out these duties, but he didn't seem to get my point.
No surprise there really.
