Keep up at the back!

(They moved the goalposts on the previous page of this thread... hehe )

Saw a car today with a SJ plate - in Strathclyde - is this the new national police force prefix, as at least I used to know to look for SF on suspicious dark coloured cars.

The last 3 times I've been stopped,

1) I got off at the side of the road, plod said he thought i had went through a Red light, his mate sat in the car, i said you thought or i did ??? He "let me off" just nodded and walked back to car.

2) Stopped for speeding by the gun, pulled over was asked all the usual said nothing apart from DOB etc. After letters telling me just to pay the fine etc, defended myself
went to court, long story got off.

3) Stopped by polis for being on the phone another long story defended myself didnt get off should have but the prosicution played dirty, should have appealed but to appeal you need a silk and you dont get any money back.

Just remembered got stopped a few years ago s In Disguise said "do you know the men in the car are criminals?" I asked if that was illegal went back to car and drove off.

Hi, does anybody in the Edinburgh area know of a kind of gun-metal grey BMW 5 Series estate, unmarked but with blue lights in the radiator, front bumper and front and back windows? It flew through Barnton junction, blues and twos, this morning heading towards town. I'm not sure if it was police or military because it was full of 4 or 5 heavies in what looked liked black military-style outfits with no obvious markings and because it's probably only 2 minutes from the Army HQ, where the bomb disposal people are based, I wondered if it could be army personnel or an ARV. It was quite a sinister sight.

Not sure if it's been on this thread but I drove passed a dark blue unmarked Volkswagen transporter with lights flashing having just pulled someone at Shawfield stadium.

Saw that Mondeo on M8 today. Had pulled someone over. Dark blue and as stated blues lights built into the side light flashers.

How much effort and cost are the police putting into these unmarked cars and why?

Yesterday on return trip to blackpool, seemed to be mainly marked cars and one Unmarked silver volvo estate in Cumbria. Unusually very obvious marked car south of Carlisle on overbridge with radar gun out of window. About 6 cars in total between north and south on a very quiet day!

White 5 series BMW going along A92, then up towards police HQ. LED lights behind grill and the LED screen in the back.

Can't remember the number but a fairly obvious car.

From a press release regarding Scotland's New Police Scotland Service from 1st April 2013:-

"There will be the National Trunk Roads Unit."

Policing on major roads will be carried out by the unit that will more effectively be able to police across current force boundaries - up the M74, across the M8, up the A9

It appears this unit has started already with high profile marked patrols and unmarked cars in use.

Both are using radar guns and camera vans on all mentioned roads.

Black 5 door Vauxhall Astra, SF62 CAV
Lights on the top of the bonnet, on the grille and below the number plate. They were getting some refreshments from the Greggs on Paisley Road West.

Was just about to post the exact same thing! Evoque got pulled right in front of me.

What car were you in mate? I was in a very dull fire brigade white diesel focus.

It was the Evoque that I saw pulled. I was in my Etna Black Giulietta. I may have passed you - or indeed you me!!!! Perhaps a bit more gingerly than earlier . . . . . .

It was a lovely drive last night with the snow on the hills and the sunshine

Ha! I was making decent progress until I saw that, slowed down a touch right enough.

Yeh it was a cracking night for a run, pity I was nightshift and on my way to a building fire!
