Casa Marcini(sp) was the one on King St and the place on Nelson St was a manufacturer/wholesale place
The one on Nelson St. was Carcones, it sold to the public as well as manufacture/wholesale - I used to work there (many years ago).

As mentioned by someone else, I remember Radars and the finish a plate of spaghetti get another one free. I seem to recall they did cracking veggie hot dogs as well.

Anyone remember The Venue?

Crombie Sports - Bridge St (Now McCalls)
My Dad, with a business partner, opened that shop when it was originally on Crombie Road in Torry. That was back in the early 70s.
Cool, I spent a lot of time in the Golf section downstairs.

There was another sports shop just up the road from Crombies that may have just sold Golf Equipment but as its so long ago I can't remember. The Black & White shop I think it was called.

I used to go out with one of the Boodles girls...
And a very good mate was the Bar Manager there. he did the interviewing, the girls had to fit the uniform, largest size was a 10... Doubt if you would get away with that now.

Edited to add "Champers" and Ricky Simpsons pink Bodouir "Cupids" surely the winner of the all time bad taste decor award

To be honest i am not surprised, we went for lunch there about 2 months ago, the service was terrible, and the food was cold. I just hope they don't turn it into a coffee/baguette/phone shop.

I used to go to the Venue a lot when I first moved to Aberdeen. It's now a function suite for the hotel (whatever it's called now) at the bottom of Market St. You entered the Venue from Shiprow. I was there on it's last night. Very drunken. Ran out of cash that night and had to cash a cheque behind the bar (as you could do in those days - very handy as a student!). But I was too wasted to sign the cheque and the guy standing next to me at the bar had to do it for me (his hand-writing, my name)! Those were the days. I've still got the cheque as a momento - remember when banks used to send your cashed cheques back to you with your statement?!

Egg & Dart was a great pub. I lived in Kepplestone when I was in 1st year at uni 96-97 and it was a favourite for a few years after that.

Good pub for watching the rugger.

Going back to my seedy past...

What was the name of the dodgy lounge bar that was on an alley that came off Shiprow (not far from the Drift Inn)? You went up a flight of stairs, I seem to remember. They used to have ropey looking strippers there on a Saturday afternoon...

Nah Cray Daisy's was the go go dancers place above the Crows nest on the corner of Miller St.

The place Hamish is on about was Oh Henry's... you also entered through the Adelphi

No definitely not Oh Henry's. This place was further down Shiprow towards Market St. It may actually have been associated with the Drift Inn...
