Looking for a garage that would know their way around an '73 MGB.

Preferably near Edinburgh, buy willing to travel for someone that knows their stuff.

Any ideas?

Charles Cumming,45 Sandy Road, Carluke, Lanarkshire, ML8 5DR.01555 751108
Charlie was the chief mechanic for MG/Rover when they were in Lanarkshire in the 70's and 80's. Started up himself as soon as Taggarts dropped the franchise. I worked for him for 2 years while serving my time (which reminds me how much I hate Allegros' and Princesses). He doesn't have an email, fax or web-site, so you have to phone him.

You could also try the guy who works out of the Classic Car Clubs premiss in Corstorphine, he services all their classics as well as customer cars.

K+I Coachworks are another good bet.

Brian Kirkness has a V8 B; his missus has a concourse BGT V8 and a near concourse BGT.

They've got a huge site out at Eskbank and another at the bottom of Viewforth in the city centre.

Know those cars well - remember when Helen's B had a heritage reshell - cracking job.

(I used to do the website for Edinburgh MG Club a few years ago!)

The yellow B I remember mostly is Len & Janis' Bumble B.

And they'll be my parents! I took the B on in October. Brian Kirkness and Malcolm got it running properly - carb issues and it's now sweet. All I've done to it so far is sort the tappets out (very very noisy), replace the headlight switch, put some decent tyres on it and fit the Bee Hive lowering kit.

Bumping this thread as I now have a MGB GT and looking for a reputable garage to look at the fuel side as my car has a Weber carb fitted. Cross Garage in Kirkituloch looks good as its only about 20 minute away. Anyone know of anymore near Glasgow.

I used to use Greg and his MG Garage in Hayburn lane in Glasgows west end but thats away now.

Thanks in advance.

Gary.

Weber? Scotland?

Your man is Ricky Gauld in Huntly. Long way. But he is literally the experienced Weber guy in Scotland, and some distance beyond. He will do it on his rolling road.

Google Ricky Gauld Performance for details.

Cheers.

Chic has moved operations to a new location in Bankfoot, Perthshire.

I'm available in East Calder if you're in need.

Get in touch if you need help, I'm in East Calder and know B's very well.
Not working full-time on cars until next year but can plan around other projects/time.
