I'm going to fit the 'thick' front speaker wires
and maybe if I've got time fit the stereo head unit
and new veneer - as it all looks a bit messy and unfinished in there without it !

I'm also out driving some routes to the BBWF location for anyone coming from the south (missing the M40 !).

What are you doing to yours - as the is only 29 days, 13 hours 52 mins and 1 second before BBWF

This weekend I shall mostly be .....

taking the bloody radiator out again.

The small leak I had has now become a bigger leak and I can no longer put the job off.

Kenneth.

Hello all,
my wedge (1980 280*2)is slowly going through a body off refurbishment, therefore this weekend the steering column and the hand brake cable will be removed leaving only the body to be lifted. Loads of fibre glass and chassis repairs to follow (not to mention engine, gearbox and suspension!!!). Won't make the meeting this year..... maybe next year if it is done again....have a blast!!!

The 'tina racks are fully adjustable for wear, if you have play in the end ball / socket joint, pull back the rubber boot and tighten the cup on the shaft 1/4 turn and check again ( this cup should be very tight on the shaft). If you still have steering play then remove the little oval plate on the top of the rack, remove a shim and refit.

Hopefully if weather ok and car back I'll out and getting used to better power and new suspension now fully settled and set up. Must remember to take it easy first of all, it bite me last Saturday at the last roundabout before Austec, I'm sure you know the one Alan, bit too fast and lots of squeal from all four tyres.

Oooo, another 2+2 around, hello!

B4 BBWF I will mostly be driving mine around to make sure she's fit and well. Ah yes, and fixing her left headlight and a slight leak from another coolant hose, think it just needs screwing! Might fit some more speakers, done front ones and CD player now

I will be putting on some spit and polish on the wedge on Saturday, and hopefully joining the WYTVRCC lot at Harewood on Sunday for the classic car show.

I hope the weather picks up...

Well seeing as both of my toys are wedges, I'll have to itemise both...
390SE: Driver's seat rake adjust lever snapped off in Julie's hand a couple of weekends back. So the seat is stuck in a position that's OK for her but a bit upright for me. THAT will be a five minute job...not .
Also, the potentiometer has broken on the rev limiter, meaning it doesn't know what to do so cuts in at 4500 rpm, very inconvenient. Had to disconnect it for the moment. The backlight on the oil pressure gauge is out; has to be the hardest instrument to access, of course. Then there's the airflow meter: still needing some more fettling I think . Incidentally I've just bought another Jag AFM so there may be a recalibrated one for sale soon (with adapter and bracket for the Wedge... if anyone else fancies a fiddle with their fuelling.

Esprit: the rear suspension is as hard as nails. It makes the TVR feel wallowy, it's that bad. So I need to back off the preload on the AVOs. Then there's the glovebox catch that needs adjusting to stop the thing popping up when you hit a bump... and I haven't checked the transmission oil since I bought it... and the main beams are too low.... etc. etc.

This weekend I will be mainly washing the Wedge.[Oi Ted, when can we have a smiley for car washing?]

Then I will be taking dozens of calls from people wanting to buy it. Then I will be taking it to the Mid Beds TVR Meet (Plug, Plug) on Sunday , before accepting a large wedge (?) of used fivers for her , wave goodbye and wonder if I have done the right thing!

Ho hum...

Oh - another job to do :

Adjust the accelerator pedal up to nearer the level of the brake pedal - so I can toe and heel properly.

Austec - changed it for me ... when it was OK to start with (thanks..) !

If it's fine , on Saturday she will get washed and polished and driven to Bournmouth for my future SiL's stag-do and back in the early hours (I'm not drinking as I have to be back home early Sunday morning).

If it's wet , I'll be in the Jeep

At the moment the forecast looks "reasonable" ... but who can tell. Just off to consult seaweed and fir cones - about as reliable at the Met Office .
