Dave - you serviced my 450SE in 2010. I'll be in touch shortly for you to work your magic again!!
Back on topic, am I correct in thinking that Dave Haughin commited suicide? Very sad if true but I have vague memories of reading about this a while back.

Nige' I'm afraid you are correct - it was in 1990
I'm glad my memory isn't going just yet. Still a sad thing to remember though. I for one am glad that he did the SX's and therefore left a legacy for some lucky people to drive around in. I love the sound of a V8 but the sound of a supercharged V8 is a little bit special. He would have been a great person to have given a talk at any BBWF.

It has been for sale for a while Andy, been up and seen it a long time ago and it looks and sounds right.Andy
Dont really have that much in the funds at the moment, but as my search goes on i hope the funds to increase with a bit of luck. Unless you want to flog me your SEAC.....
To me all wedges are special, but nothing has come close in my opinion to my last SX that Oz2 has now.
Rob
Rob
Rob or is it Rod
All my wedges are special to me as well. I was so lucky to be it the wright place with some cash in hand when my SEAC came up for sale.
Sorry mate SEAC not for sale. any way I would want a far lot more than the SX if I was ever to sell it!
I am in fact looking at another car to add to my stable when I can get walking and driving! I can't do anything like buying another car till then!

I lived in Cheshire very close to another TVR Dealer, Christopher Neil but they wouldn't let me have a test drive of a 350! In 1988. Same answer from Harrogate Horseless and all the other dealers. Dave Haughin said come up, so I drove for about 4 nrs to get there and when I walked in Dave just gave me the keys to his demonstrator and said come back in a couple of hours. I purchased a new 350! With OZ alloys and a whale tail and less than a year later traded for a new 390se and then an S which I kept a week before getting a 400se. Dave was a true gent and enthusiast and it was such a sad ending. He will remain a legend in TVR history, always!!!!
Christopher Neil were my nearest TVR dealer too. Around 1990 I rocked up with Mrs B in our Renault 5GTTurbo to test drive a 350i. They gave us the keys and didn't even want to accompany me. Couldn't have been more helpful or knowledgable.
A few yars ago when I was looking to return to TVR ownership they (in their new Oakmere guise) had a tuscan S for sale. The salesman took me out in it and gave it full beans from cold. The performance was impressive, but I wasn't impressed.
