good day yesterday got the drive shafts fitted to the diff also dry fitted the new rose jointed bottom stay bar all looks good, then drilled the new fixing holes for the spherical bearings to replace the rubber bush at the forward end of the trailing arm, then cleaned up the trailing arms and got them painted new wheel bearings fitted with new seals got to source one new circlip then they will be all complete, made up the new 20mm shafts to go through the new spherical bearing the bearings are actually 25mm so got to make a bush for the centres but the housing on the 20mm bearing didn't look as robust as 25mm hence the choice, then turned my attention to the controls i took out the steering column as that is being replaced with electric power steering unit similar to the unit i fitted in the chim then took out the brake and clutch master cylinders for overhaul also make the paint job in the engine bay easier with everything removed, can't wait to get back at it.

another milestone today got the offside rear suspension all built up, i fabricated the top rails for the coil over shocks which once i have the adjustable shocks will give me infinite ride and height adjustment plus the ability to experiment with the spring rates quite like the idea of a much more upright shock with lower spring rate which give a much better shock travel to wheel travel ratio more the way later cars are going, still early days yet a bit more welding to finally fit the shock rails then paint and start all over again on the nearside.
there are also a couple of pics of the lower wishbone i have fabricated for the front suspension gives easy and fairly extensive camber adjustment needs the shock mount making and welding in place plus the bracket for the tie rod but pleased so far.
ignore the crow st welding migs gone tits up going to stick weld them tomorrow after some serious grinding but at least they are in place.

this build is sooooo slow but got a bit more done friday front suspension is now a reality couple of mods to get it perfect but am happy with the result fully adjustable no stripping down required to adjust plus lighter and far more tuneable shocks springs etc. etc. the shock on there at the moment is an old chim bilstein will be having gas gold pros probably as have fitted a couple of sets recently not least to my chim and they seem o.k. for fast road.

this must be the longest rebuild i have done but just so much customer work, but have now set aside time to get on with my wedge and nicks cerebra want them both finished for next season or i`ll be to old, i have finished all the parts for the front suspension and got them all painted ready to install i am going to get the front end of the chassis painted this week so i can get all the front suspension on to have a rolling chassis then get it over to the paint shop to sort the body out whilst rebuilding the engine. some pics below of the front suspension.

been at it again today got the engine and gearbox pressure washed and the engine stripped, it will need a new camshaft and followers, crank regrind, valves lapped in but bores are surprisingly good so rering them after honing all should be good, few pics below of the strip down plus a couple of closeups of the worn cam and followers
