It has just been fitted with a new system which has a side exit on each side. It blows up all the dust when you follow it and burns ya' legs if you are dumb enough to forget to move out the way when its started.

Again I'm sure Tim would be happy to tell you all about it and his new found ground clearance

I'm blushing ! what was it that Andy Warhole (sp ?) said about 15 mins of fame ? ;o)

She's definitely a 450 SE ( and proud of it! ).

I've already posted for news on the sister car ( red / magnolia ), if the owners lurking or anybody knows whereabouts, I would love to make contact to exchange notes or even perhaps a joint photo shoot ?

Can be kept private if they want to keep themselves (car) anon.

Cheers

Tim 450 SE J 814 GGO

p.s. The new exhaust system is A1,
only grounding now occurs on fast undulating roads under full blat. The headers are now 4 into 1 which are a great improvement over the standard items with rest of the system in s/s

Just to say I'm here too! Tims old SEAC is in fine health and will be getting a new interior this winter. Interstingly, when I bought it Tim said it was one of the Carbon fibre ones and even though its been back to the gel coat I'm not sure how much CF is in it as there was no sign of carbon with the paint off and gel coat exposed. However, looking at most of the main bodywork panels from the INSIDE there is a layer of carbon fibre and the front end below the rad is definitely CF. I'm going to be stripping the underside of the bonnet in the near future to investigate further! There was also a yellow left hooker advertised as CF a couple of years ago.

Tims 450/460 SE is one of the two 450SE's made in 1992 two years after the official production run of 35 450SE's to a special order. The last two were the only ones with auto boxes hence the confusion in certain publications of how many 450's were made some say 35 some say 37. The way I look at it is 37 were made but only 35 with manual boxes !!!

Also there were 2 450 SEACs made after the official production run too, Karl from west Yorks, has one and it is immaculate, it is on the wedge pages gallery. It was very expensive as it was made to special order when Griffs and S's were the cars being made and the wedges officially being dead since around Oct '91.

I am not sure about this bit but they would have had to have been made before the end of 1992 before catalytic converters became mandatory from 1st Jan 1993, and as we all know there aint no space under the bonnet of a wedge to put a cat or even a pollution reducing, noise spoiling converter !!!

Viva la Wedge !!!!

Brm Brm, The Carbon fibre SEACs had an outer skin of grp so it would be difficult to see carbon from the outside, when i bought it i found carbon in the whole of the boot behind the doors and in the nose cone, infact all of the places that i could easily view, i cant say categorically that it has carbon everywhere but acording to Chris Schirl (he was in charge of SEAC production ) about 4 or 5 were Carbon fibre there is a good chance that the bonnet and doors where grp maybe.? let me know what you find .Tim
