End of a long journey ....

A sad story, but as alot have said, good that no.one was seriously hurt. Did The Rozzer attend ? As that often helps speed up the insurance companies settle blame if a driver is clearly guilty of Due Care or inconsiderate driving.
To cheer you up, could have been worse, I was once rear shunted by another driver many years ago....the other driver was my Mrs !!
Good luck with it.

Thanks for the comments guys appreciated. Not a lot to report, good news is that the car and driver who hit me are fully insured. Insurance company dealing with it now so at the moment until the inspection of my car is completed there is nothing to do but wait. Many thanks to those that have contacted me for the good advice when it comes to decision making and repairs. At the moment I cannot bare to look at the car so she is locked away and will come out when it's time for inspection. I am not going to fret about the may be's until they say yes or no to the repairs.
Thanks again and I will report in when there is some news.

Hi Chris
Sorry I don't seem to get on here much anymore
Glad you could walk away from your accident and hope you don't have any long term affects
In your line of work I am sure both you and your wife know what to watch out for
Gutted for you with the Gredge as it was such a sorted car
Just don't sell out for too little if you do let them write it off
as I would say value £9K-£10K all day long - and then the personalised Reg extra
Hope it all goes well for you Mate
Cheers

Well a quick update guys ....
Looks like the car is destined for the parts pile as the cost of repairs is in excess of £7k plus any other issues they find.
Got to say that the Insurance assessor was at the car for 18 mins tops .... so I expect any day to be told that it is uneconomical to repair.
I could buy the car as Cat D repair or sell off the parts but to be honest I do not want the hassle / stress, or watch as the parts get sold off. So as expected my TVR journey is over and time to move on. Just got to negotiate the best price for the car.
So thanks to all for comments, support and advice, I will pop in to the forum from time to time but good luck to everyone and have a great Fest this year

7K is still under half of what i think the Gredge is worth mate even if the quote is a bit spicy...WTF do insurance companies know about appreciating classics?..They are supposed to be specialists yet they rely on people who haven't got the first idea of what the whole experience means or is about..Wanchors....
Hi Chris
Gutted at the outcome matey. Horrible that your TVR ownership has come to such an abrupt end. Obviously taking on the breaking or repair of the gredge doesn't fit in with your future plans but would it not be possible to buy back the gredge and sell it straight on to someone who would be willing to return it to the road ? After all the work youve put into it it would be a shame to see it die. Im Sure that there is one or two peeps on here who would like to have a go at the gredges restoration.
Hope to see you around at some point.

Hi Chris,
It is really sad that this has happened. No one wants to see there P&J end up this way. Even tho CAT D would be a downer, to keep such as nice sorted wedge on the road would be my aim. Either keep myself or sell to someone who plans on restoring it. Love the plate by the way, Mine is G867 TVR. kinda brothers one would say. was your's registered with the plate?
mark.

Morning all
After our family hack was rear ended this morning (no injuries thank goodness) it brought Chris's accident back to mind so I thought I'd drop in a post to see what was the latest developments on the gredge ?
Has she gone to the scrappers or has Chris been able to salvage her in some way. ? Hope its the latter
