Does the brake vacuum reservoir still work? (And yes, I remember my mate had a MkI which sat boiling and gurgling for 10-15 minutes after getting home - every time!)

Yup. The only things that didn't work were the heater (unnecessary in that car) and the electric shaver point. :-)

But yes get it where it should be..I manually turn on my fan when mine is on the white line and will at some point fit a fan switch..I think they do a thermostat housing with a switch already inside it but whether they fit the Range rover D1 refi V8 is an unanswered question...However i would probably go for the thermostatic probe or faucet....

I recall my auto switch was screwed into one side of the rad, 2/3 of the way down in case you drop all of your coolant.
