Been looking through some pics of her lately, Shame she had to go..I really did love that car..Shame i never got to finish her and maybe if the blower had worked out then i probably would of kept her..But i hope you are being looked after and being treated with a bit of respect..Wherever you are..I still love you....frown

Be pushed to find another who knows and looks after a TIV like you do Zig !
(sorry don't mean to offend the new owner).

Zig, if you keep thinking this way about Delilah and the blower, Poppy will get jelous and might turn the cold shoulder on you. Delilah is in the past, and by now is probably with Samson. Maybe we should get you to see a counsellor.

Hi Ziga.

She made an appearance at the Queens Square meet last month, I was just leaving when I spotted her so didn't get a chance to take a photo.

This coming Sunday is the next one so I'll see if another appearance is made..

Yup, must admit I adhere to that line of thought.. can't have one car all your life. Lots of options out there to try :-)

Zig, you're dwelling far too much on what was and what might have been. You need something to distract you. A woman or a motorbike. Or both. At the same time.

Oh yeah i remember you saying now..Although she was apparently looking a bit worse for wear...If you see her tell her i....Well you know...Miss her..Oh and if the new owner is a skinny weasel then give him a slap..However if he is a big burly bugger then don't ..Just whisper in her door mirror whilst pretending to look at the walnut veneer ..smile

scratchchin..Mmmm you could be right...A woman on a motorbike...Perhaps i should of kept the Harley hard tail chop and then got a motorcycle slut to sit on my lap while i hit the speed bumps and then for a real treat ride to somewhere historical and hit the cobblestones....Oh yeah baby...

The oriental offerings are OK, very efficient and generally smooth in operation. But for added interest you really need something that noticeably vibrates, leaks fluids on occasions, perhaps a bit cantankerous, probably 40 years old or so, most likely a Brit or an Italian.

And as for the motorbike, well there's a wide range to choose from.

Well i guess that is being more realistic...I would have to sort the leaks out though...hurl

Well mate...When i first got the 280i she was un-drivable for months..And months...And months..She would break down and so would i...I even threatened a sacrificial burning at my first Wedgefest 2010.

But perseverance shone through and she became loveable..I named her Delilah as i found myself saying..."Why Why Why" quite a lot and being a musical man and a bit of a fan of sir tom i thought it only right..Weird thing was once i named her she behaved...Well most of the time the little hussie..I nearly married her at Wedgefest 2011 though i didn't want to look a fool trying to carry her over the threshold...I just got very very very drunk instead.

Delilah was my salvation after a long term illness...She helped me find new friends...A new life and my father after 30 years..Bit strange that one really..Then after much money and fettling of a supercharger the engine decides to catch a piston ring on one of the cylinders causing serious blow-by..Unfortunately for me i bought a pair of what i was on the understanding of were a pair of unleaded heads...It turned out only one was...So i whacked the spare engine in that i managed to source and moved her over for Poppy..

Now Poppy first off is Gun metal grey so pop pop bang bang..Overrun pop pop..bang bang..I put a deposit down on her on remembrance Sunday and picked her up the following Sunday so there were a few things tying that name to her....Delilah had a stubborn streak and could be a right mare, She was also partial to a bit of bling which i enjoyed lavishing on her luscious lines..She could be a right charmer and we did have some lovely days out together...Poppy is more the mature type who is witty...Intelligent and no nonsense although she can be a bit of a goer with the good stuff in her...She can look sophisticated but i need to sort her scabby arse out!...

I miss Delilahs carefree lets go all out attitude but Poppy has come at a good time ..She mothers me a bit which is weird when i have to fiddle with her bits...But in general we have a good time together..."Whats that dear...Okay coming"...Sorry must dash i think she said one of the straps on the cover is a bit too loose.."Coming darling"......These 27 year old's are well demanding...Cha

Hi Mark, yes i know what you mean mate i am lucky in that i had some space (all full now) to keep my past cars so i still have the ones i wanted to keep, but i always remember my dads old rover sd1 mk1, we had it for 14 years before he sold it then it only lasted another year before going to scrap but to this day i miss it and although i have an sd1 i would swap it for that car if i could in an instant. Delilah looks very nice in red and those wheels look really good on her and at least you have the nice memories and photos of her to keep.

Thanks Martin..Memories are all we have at the end of the day..So its good to have good ones...There were some sad ones surrounding her as well so that was another reason to let her go..I needed to start a new chapter in my life as the first 45 pages were a different story with an unhappy ending.
I hope she can go on to be enjoyed and loved and used..Knowing my luck when I'm 70 i will probably witness her being sold at an auction somewhere for close to a 100K..Still wearing her gold shoes...Hopefully she would of aged better than me...hehe

I remember we spoke not so long ago Mark..and you telling me about some of your past difficulties. We reciprocated story's at the time.. so it's good to hear the similarities in how the purchase of a TVR Wedge can really help shift your life and focus in a different direction. It's helped me for sure..made some darker days..just a little brighter. smile

Great names though mate, they fit both ladies perfectly.. thumbup
