Been doing things each day between other jobs.

Manifolds are off and the ACT stainless replacements offered up. They fit so are now winging their way to Performace 1 Coatings.

Plenum base is at I Cleanz Machines for vapour cleaning.

A box of odds and sods are at Fox Plating for triple passivating.

Completed various grp repairs to the headlamp pods and the rhs of the engine bay.

Uncovered some poor wiring and failing connectors so repaired / renewed those.

Replced various rusty mountings bolts and screws with stainless versions. Replaced various rusty structural fixings with new hi-ten items.

Awaiting some evilbay purchases to arrive.

Have decided to undertake some front end body mods so will take the bumper and lower valance off tomorrow.

A few more jobs done today.

Headrest plates dry enough to fit so did so. Headrests back in the car. 'Flapper' mount dry to so this was fitted ahead of collecting various bits from the platers and blasters on Tuesday. Intake side of the engine should be back together next week

Bumper and front air dam off. Bit of damage to the air dam but will fix this whilst fitting some 'big heads' to make fitting and removal better. Or in other words doing it right. Got a couple of minor mods planned for these. If the weather stays dry, these should be done next week.

Found a missing body mount bolt so fitted a suitable stainless jobbie.

Getting there.

Cleaned up plenum base and shortened trumpets installed. Thermal gasket fitted below.

Still waiting on some bits from the platers so the plenum is just sitting there.

Fitted the flapper back on too.

Decided to fix the bare wires on the potentiometer loom with some liquid tape rather than replace the unit. Upgrade may be on the cards over the winter.

Tidied up the wiring and cooling pipework along the front. Fitted some cable tie clips to separate things out better.

Was hoping to do some body mods this week but other matters have cropped up. Tomorrow I'll drill some holes in those stainless circles to make some large washers.

Also checked my bespoke air intake pipework still fitted.

Couple of small jobs done.

Earth cable added between coil mount and alternator mount.

Large stainless washers made and added. Think I'll add some neoprene washers under them following some comments from others.

Should have the parts back from the platers tomorrow.

Collected some stuff from the platers but the main cage to the throttle wasn't ready.

So thought I'd fit what was ready before the rains came. The only problem? Couldn't find the jar containing the fixings. By the time it was found the rain had come.

So, coated the vacuum pipe and rocker breather base with ACF50 and fitted them.

Got some drainage pipes to fit to the homestead tomorrow night first then I'll get on with modding the bumper panel. Assuming the rain stays away.

Again a few small jobs today.

Not Wendy related, I cleaned up the alloy strut from one of the Surrey Roofs. Swapped out the rear rose joint for an eyelet. Gave it a coat of ACF-50 the reassembled. Finished off with some nyloc stainless dome nuts.

Infilled the badge recesses on the rocker covers and painted the flame trap. Needed to improvise some cover during a light shower.

Then got on with modifying the bumper. Passenger side grp done. Cutting holes, tidy up and some paint to finish. Ran out of resin, so driver's side will be done once I get some more. Should be tomorrow so the bumper can go back on this week.

Got on with the drainage alts on the house but did fit the, now dry, flame trap to the rocker cover. I also sorted the screen wash bits.

Few more jobs done over the week.

Started the cooling system mods. Connected what was the plenum heater take off from the inlet manifold into the 'return' just above the water pump.

Collected the last bits from the platers so built up the throttle and fitted the plenum.

Connected the air intake too.

Manifolds should be back tomorrow and I have a few small bits on order which I hope to arrive this week.

Shall try and finish the bumber mods tomorrow.

Did a few more jobs today.

Finished the grp mods to the bumper. This now just needs prep and paint.

The parts I ordered haven't arrived so I did some detailing. Front panel and passenger wing done. Cleaned down with panel wipe. Claybar. Then several cleansing polishes. Then three coats of wax.

Fitted a replated badge at the front.

Also fitted a couple of 4-inch marine covers to the access holes under the light pods.

Been busy with project Froggy but S Club Tour starts on the 1st of September and Wendy needs to be in Penrith that night!

So today, driver's side manifold fitted. Need to order a new connector for the exhaust as there is a 25mm gap between the manifold and the exhaust.

So tomorrow's jobs are to repair the battery tray and connect up the cooling system. Then fit the bumper and the front air dam.

Another day on Wendy.

Today got the cooling system finished, then started on sorting the battery tray. Didn't get round to doing the grp work but did get most of the redundant wiring out.

So, tomorrow will get on with the grp repairs in the battery tray area. Then wire up the front lights. After that, if I have time, I want to swap the seats around and remove the stereo amp.

So, just the rear brakes, wing mirrors, boot lid and MOT to go.

Another day on Wendy.

Battery tray holes filled, clamp installed and battery secured.

Seats removed, clean up beneath and swapped sides. Stainless bolts used - before anyone replies, the 2mm thick GRP will break before the bolts, belts are mounted to the chassis.

So, assuming the weather stays dry tomorrow afternoon, the front lights, air dam and boot lid are on the job list.

Bonnet on. Struts adjusted.

Front bumper, side lights and indicators on.

Battery connected.

Ignition works fine.

Possibly some time on Sunday to get more done. So front air dam, driving lights, boot lid and third brake light next on the list.

4-days to MOT!
