Hi,the exhaust on the Tasmin I've just acquired seems very low about 3" off the ground.Has anyone pics of there exhaust showing the whole underside system but mainly the centre box and how it's held up/too the chassis.Whats the best sounding system to fit when replacement due? Thanks dave

What system do you have fitted to your car? The really early ones had a single silencer underneath the gearbox, slightly later ones had fabricated tubular 'log' manifolds and an above gearbox single silencer. Later cars had the Langford system which is a split system having a silencer under each seat then another two near the rear axle.

ATC have the Langford system on the shelf and can make you the other ones.

Mine is pretty low, more than 3” though. I flipped my manifolds around and cobbled the downpipes to ROW configuration to get rid of the converter and several clunks. The underseat mufflers were gone when I bought it. Had a shop replace the grody looking midpipes with something marginally better. Too loud and poppy. Needs some small resonators and a crossover.

The few hangers I have are ahead of the rear suspension and clamp around a transverse frame tube. I’ll have to look at the isolator. I should remember this.

That's pretty low right enough. I suspect your car started life with the log manifolds and above gearbox system. There must be a custom fabricators near you that could sort you out with something?

Some pictures. Not very good, but show that my exhaust is sitting quite high in relation to the bottom rail.
I think that a mark 2 system was used and modified so that the rear boxes could sit as shown, they were chopped I think. [url]

The exhaust seems to run high level by the gear stick, just see it in this photo.

I expect your exhaust has been run low level to stop the heat transfer to the cabin, as mine isn't all back together just yet it gets hot very quickly!!
