I sold my Wedge recently but I still look at this forum. I may or may not buy another Wedge but I find this forum very informative. There are a lot of people on here with a wealth of knowledge. FB on the other hand, in my opinion, is only good for gossip and cheap advertising. Also, there seems to be a competition in setting up a Wedge FB group and who can get the most members. It’s hard to use, information doesn’t hang around for too long and you can’t search for anything. This is a proper forum and people will soon realise. FB is no completion and people will in time realise and return. It’s just a passing phase. Just my opinion.

Not being able to advertise the wedge fest in TVR events also doesn't help,
it just moves it more to FB

Agreed. It's the number 1 event of the year for Wedges however the TVRCC wont even mention it. Totally stupid. Some bridges need building...... Even if it's not an affiliated event it should be publicised for those with Wedges.

Not going to mention the tvrcc that's a can of worms I don't want to open, but why doesn't PH allow any TVR event to post on the forum ?

Not sure where you're coming from, the BBWF is a TVR event and that's on the forum.

and isn't the Griff growl still going that was also on the forums?

and IIRC the TVRCC also post up events in the events/meetings forums.

However as I'm not as active on the TVR forums as I used to be that may have changed. smile

Hi Big Al, long time no hear from you. Hope all is well. As far as I am aware it's only the TVRCC that don't recognise the BBWF. Hopefully going forward things will improve.

wavey

I'm always around somewhere in the background sweeping up and trying to keep the place tidy, as I have done for the last 18 years! yikes

Don't the time fly when you're enjoying yourself? hehe

ETA

Make that nearly 16 years, getting ahead of myself!

Yes, 5 years since I joined the PH group and bought my first Wedge and asked if you could add me to the Wedge list. Time does indeed fly.... 4 weeks to go and officially I can draw my final salary pension, if I so choose! Scary.

I think you stopped people posting about the fest in the tvr events and meeting forum , but I could be wrong.

We normally don't allow members to promote anything other than charity events, not sure TBH if the Fest fell into that category.

We would also frown upon members advertising/driving our members to others forums to support events.

Can't really remember much about the history of the Fest TBH. smile

Certainly for the A frame the original rubber bushes are no longer available so everyone goes poly. TVR Parts are the cheapest I've seen. I did try a few of the usual specialists but they couldn't beat TVR parts prices.
