Nice little job this, quite enjoyed it and the results are amazing compared to the fuzzy flock rubbish it has replaced!

Highly recommended!

Before and after carpet dying, the right side was originally purple but had lost most of its colour due to age/sunlight. Very satisfying job which brings the interior back to life.

Both look very interesting, I would be keen to know where the Alcantara was purchased and the carpet dye. This is on my list and was thinking of getting new carpets but if the dye works as well as it looks, could be a good option. Was the retrim of panels a case of glueing the fabric over the flock.

Yep, evostick impact adhesive, layer of scrim foam, then alcantara on top. Dead easy.

Genuine Alcantara isn't cheap though!

I used these guys:

Thanks for the info, at that price for the paint, it has to be worth trying. I did see some alcantara like material from john lewis coming in at about £45sqm, I think it was just an upholstery fabric, with a suede feel to it I've not checked latest prices on UK hide. Appreciate your help.

Yep, there are some cheaper alternatives, faux-suede and the like. But genuine Alcantara isnt cheap.

It comes off of a 1.5m wide roll.

1m off of that roll comes in around £90 Inc VAT that will be more than enough to cover both speaker panels

I went for 2m off the roll to do both door cards as well, and have a good bit left.

Debating the headlining / boot lid interior to use up the remainder.

Door cards and speaker panel, I don't mind trying even the mirror joystick panel, but the headlining seems a bit more involved. Got me thinking now though
