Good evening all,

Just wondering if anyone has spare front springs for 2.9 s2 1989 as one of mine has shattered in three, want to use the car this summer and no funds to buy new coil overs till next year, if you do let me know how much.

All the best

Sorry to 'barge in' but could you possibly measure the unloaded spring in the pictured Koni's? TIA

No biggrin

If I can raise the enthusiasm I might stir myself to remove a spring over the weekend and measure it sleep

Wayne, I may have some more hid away somewhere, I'll see what I can find if I have any time left after spending hours trying to get a spring off wink

Just the spring length on the shock..no removal required, wouldn't want to put you through that.

Just a thought?

How about contacting GAZ shocks in Essex? I'm fairly sure that someone there would give you their preferred spring poundage and unloaded length over the 'phone....Had my Gold Pro' s refurbished by them a few years ago and were returned PDQ. The new springs were about £20 each in addition to the damper refurb'.

Unfortunately it's not looking good, I'd have put money on having my old Koni's somewhere but buggered if I can find them. All I can find are an assortment of old springs for AVO/Gaz/Protech shocks but they are all a smaller diameter irked

By coincidence my plan this Bank holiday weekend is to put up a new shed and have a good sort out. Things don't always go to plan but if anything comes to light I'll message you.

Finally, it might be worth asking on the S Series specific forum rather than this general gossip one, there must be loads around with the number of folk who've fitted after market shocks.

Do you "do" facebook? There's a TVR S Series owners and enthusiasts group on there, lot more active than Pistonheads these days.

I’ve got a box of 4 springs/dampers which I took off my S3c a couple of years back. They weren’t too bad tbh, although I think one shock had a slight weep. I went for new as I’d replaced everything else on the car.
You’re welcome to them, as they’re just sitting in a box getting in the way..
I’m in Suffolk though..
