Hi All, so I am currently using the spare time to replace rear brake discs, just a question to others that may have carried out this task previously, when trying to remove drive shaft bolts what do you do to stop the drive shaft from rotating, mine is currently on axle stands, wheels off etc. If it's in gear does not stop rotating so do I just have to simply put wheels back on and drop it onto blocks or something for this??
Hi Colin.. I don't like cutting wires, I left mine in place but clearly won't be used in the future...
Thanks Keith... I have the early trailing arm at the rear, do I really need to remove the whole lot for the rear disc replacement? Just slackening it all off would this not give me enough movement??? Probably no the answer but its a big job!

Dropping the diff on the trailing arm model is pretty easy. I'd just drop the whole thing so you have ample access to check the calipers, shims and flanges. I did it recently to replace my rotors and a leaky output seal.
Undo the axles from diff (not the hub nut, leave that well alone), undo the driveshaft, remove handbrake cable and brake hose, undo front mount bolt, rear link bolts, and the four rear mount bolts and then the whole lot will drop out. Its bloody heavy so have it supported on a jack. You might find your exhaust is also in the way, but depends on design.

Failed on handbrake!!! Flipping thing!!! Don't know how many times I've adjusted it! , probably because its not bedded in properly yet!!! The MOT station was also saying on the V5 did not state a brake weight????
Before the SEAC went for its MOT I did about 3 miles with the handbrake partially on to bed it in. Seemed to do the trick. So been driving around in the MOT'd TVR, however starting to notice some common problems
Oil leak around Valley gasket.
Temperature starting to creep into the red now and again.
Crunchy 3rd gear
Rough running when cold.
Neverending, but still a joy to drive.
New exhaust on Thursday this week.

Hi All, only seems 5 mins when i was going through the pain of bringing B470BCK back to life!! Sadly the car is now for sale, it has been on pistonheads already with no buyers, probably wrong time of year, however if anyone is interested in the car drop me a note, would like it to go to a good home.. Cheers Chris
