Hi Guys,

has anyone an idea what donor vehicle provided the hose between the
thermostat housing and the swan neck on a Series 2 350?

Land Rover? Rover SD1?

I took the old one to my local motor factors and found one I could cut down and fit (eventually)

You can get a silicon one from ACT
www.actproducts.co.uk/
They are not expensive and last longer I believe.

I went down the 'ransack the old hoses box' route when I did my engine rebuild earlier this year. Some of the hoses I bought had lost their labels so I couldn't even tell you what to ask for, but I found a superb 90 degree bend for the section you mention! I also found another hose to chop a length from for the rad bottom hose, and the remaining bit should fit the rad top outlet to the swan neck, just by chance. The buggers would insist on charging me the full list price, though, which I thought was a bit off since the pipes had probably been there since Danny was a lad... ;-)
It's worth noting that at least one length )one my car) needed to be 1.5" at one end and 1.25" at the other... I think this is the water pump to rad bottom from memory. There are also two short lengths (a pain to get at) behind the water pump, that feed the heater; Rimmers do these for a few quid each. Worth replacing some time when you have lots of bits of engine out of the way.

My company AFAC Ltd, supplies silicone rubber tube and we could do reinforced if there was the demand...

We also supplied TVR with masking products to keep the powder coating out of threads etc on the chassis...

Have a look at www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk who do straight hoses and various standard hose size converters. I have a 15mm pipe at the heater which goes into a 19mm pipe at the engine. I got straight hose and a 19mm-15mm step down widget for not a lot of dosh. There is also lots of other reasonably priced goodies that you might find you will need

Thanks for the replies guys, I'd already considered the silicone route...(can't believe I said that!) But I'll probably try the rummaging around the local motor factors first and cut down a hose from something else.
