450 SEAC for sale
Discussion
How can a TVR be too noisy.... my 450 SEAC is only 126dB so positively whisper like.
Odd comments re the wiper arm stopping the bonnet from closing? Just wondering if it's a non-original wiper and therefore is fouling? Or the bonnet catch striker plate is just too low and needs lifting up a little? a 10 minute job.
Running rough on start-up for the first few minutes - I think they all do that. Certainly both my SEAC and previous 390SE run rich and lumpy for the first 2 minutes and then all is well. Cutting out however doesn't sound good and would need sorting ASAP. The clutch judder is of concern and is not normal, so a new clutch may well be needed. On the SEAC's the gearbox can be pulled back leaving the engine in-situ to replace the clutch, so not as big a job as many think.
There is a thread on this car on the FB Wedge owners group running with some additional information/comments.

A total of five SEACS have been sold over the last few years with prices varying from £24k to £32k, depending upon colour and condition. I paid £16k for my 450 despite it not running and having been sat in a damp barn for 15 years. Its now valued at £24k but will need a full respray in the future. Given the issues I'd have thought high 20s is reasonable.
All down to personal preferences, but not keen on the bespoke CF? dash. Also, not original engine or wheels but apart from that looks well sorted and has to be worth £35K+ IMHO, especially as this is one of the 19 450 SEAC's made. Some (most?) of the recent SEAC's for sale have ended up in the USA due to rarity, I wouldn't be surprised if this one ended up there too.
I reckon that has to be one of the best looking wedges - if only I have £26K kicking around. Have to say I'm surprised you can run the exhaust under the rear axle, perhaps it's not so much of a problem being inline with the wheels...
Good luck to whoever gets it, it's a beauty and could the buyer sell me the spare set of wheels please?
