I am trying to source a front brake calliper for my 84 Tasmin , one of mine has a stuck piston! I have seen various postings that report they are from any Granada MK2. Will a pair from a MK2 2.8 Granada, with vented disks, bolt on without any modifications work fine? Is this something worthwhile to do as an upgrade? I see there is also the Austin Princess 4 pot upgrade, but at present I have not found any available.

If anyone has model /part numbers for new please advise.

I guess you have a few options and it depends what you want to spend.
The vented disks and callipers from the 2.8 Granada will bolt straight on.
It is possible to use the 2.8 Granada vented disks with the Princess 4 pot callipers see 'tvrwedgepages.co.uk' for details.
The 420/450 wedges used the Princess Callipers with a special AP Bell and Disk. You can sometimes pick these up second hand, as I did. They are expensive new. You need 2 sets of spacers for the callipers to make them wide enough. The back plate needs modifying, or you can take it off, which should help cooling.
It may be worth thinking about replacing the flexible rubber brake lines with PTFE Braided lines. These can help 'firm up' the feel to the brakes.
Brakes International should be able to help with the bits. They are based in Rochdale on 01706 666999. They were very helpful when I was trying to source bits.
Regards.

My 400se has the Aluminium bell arrangement, is this unusual for a 400? Still got the Princess 4 pots so its not aftermarket.I suppose replacement of these disks is going to be a bit of a nightmare then!

I think it's standard on the bigger wedges. I don't know about the availability or exact price of the disks maybe someone who has replaced them could comment. I was quoted £300 new for a set of bells and rotors but I don't know how this breaks (or should that be brakes) down.
