Weren’t these made predominantly for the Italian market for tax reasons?
They made 2 litre V8 (with a supercharger) S model for the Italian market but I don't think that's the reason for the 200. They just needed a cheaper model I think.

This is my favourite shape of Tasmin, I wish they had made them with a V8

I thought they did. Small number though.
I'd love a 3.5 litre wedge coupe, in black please with grey and black interior

Nope there weren't any V8 FHC wedges made on the original Tasmin 'short body' shape.

That is a series 2 body, a couple of inches longer with a slanting small rear glass panel rather than vertical on the original early cars.

Ah ha!
I hate to ask, but how many 3.5s did they make?

Most of the information in books says 52 350 FHC (six of which are 2+2), so they don't come up for sale very often..

Since 2014 I am the lucky custodian of this black beauty. She is the well known “Lynx” car.

Hooking up out of interest.

Favorite memory was a 2.8 and a TR6 chasing my dads Escort mk2 on our way to Zandvoort and of course passing us in the process.

I tried a 350i but was not comfortable with the pedals. Ages ago...
