I made my own. When i recovered my SEAC from the barn it had been in for 15 years, all the veneers had split and fallen off with the damp. Bought a sheet of burr walnut off ebay for £30 and carefully glued, trimmed and lacquered a new set. Cost £50 all in with glue and lacquer.

There's a description of how I went about on my rebuild thread, near the bottom of page 2. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I bought this from eBay

I took the dash panels off, stripped all the old wood off leaving just the metal back and cleaned it up, stuck on the vinyl and trimmed around it with a modeling knife. no-one has yet looked close enough to realize it isn't real wood!

I tried to do it myself with veneer but without proper vacuum bagging etc. it is virtually impossible to get a good result and laquering or varnishing again looks 'home made' unless done professionally.

Getting them professionally done was getting on for £500 so I chose to spend the money on a new hood instead!!

Having said all that, your veneer looks brilliant. Perhaps a bit beyond my skill level?? smilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmile

Went down the hydro dip route myself. Bit of a half way house from the vinyl and real wood option

I also purchased some veneer off ebay and did it myself. Cost was minimal but it is a time consuming job and not easy to get it completely flat when gluing and clamping the veneer.
Mind you mine has lasted over 8 years without any issues so worth doing.
