I havr tried hunting down that part for ages but I have had no luck in finding what TVR used originally. I did try a silicone hose but they are not very flexible and are difficult to fit as the plenum and airflow meter are on different centrelines. They also have a tendency to work their way off which doesn't promote good running I can tell you!!!

I got an alloy elbow (not bend), a silicone straight and a silicone 45-deg bend to make up the connection. Then wrapped it in exhaust wrap. The silicone gives it enough flex to take up the engine movement. The 45-deg bend allows you to bring the AFM / Flapper level.

Can't recall which pipe I 'stepped'. Fairly certain it wasn't the alloy elbow. Obtained all the parts readily from ebay. May even got all from ASH ebay store.

As far as I know mine's the original ex-SD1 rubbery type and it's been on the car at least 23.5 years, so I don't know how they don't last long.

Think I have sorted it with a bit of juggling. What do you think?

Looks pretty much the same as mine. Not fitted by me it was like it when I purchased the car, now off as the car its in bits (again).
However, what is the black bit attached to the Plenum?

When I had the Jag AFM fitted (removed as I went on a wild goose chase which turned out to be the ignition pickup, never got round to refitting it) I made an adapter for the hose:

Oh, there is a Jubilee clip, it's rotated out of sight in that photo biggrin
The Jag airflow meter has a larger bore so the SD1 hose won't fit over it, that alloy adapter reduces one to the other.

Dreadful photo, I think that was my first digital camera, came out of a Lucky Bag ... whistle

Your solution doesn't look too shabby either thumbup
